My Grads/Summer Fun!!

We had a busy last week. All the kids graduated from school...and did great this school year. Addison sang all her songs so loud, and did so well in her program. Shaylee did her part so well..she sang a song about the months of the year, all by herself. Preston had a great school year and did amazing in everything. They are great little kids and we are so blessed to have them in our little family.
We of course had to have our summer fun basket, and donuts when they all got home on their last day of school. They love this little tradition and so do I. We have already kicked off summer with a bang. McDonald's for lunch to celebrate the last day of school. Jumping on the tramp, swimming, hula hoop learning, and hanging out with family. We are having a blast and love not having to always be somewhere. Also a BIG THANKS to Grandma Eves for filling in for Dean while he has been gone. The kids loved seeing you at their graduations. Yea for summer!!!

Garden Love

When we first moved into this house I knew I wanted a garden. We finally had a yard big enough to put one in. We decided to put it on the side of the house that never gets used. My Dad, Mom, and our little family are trying our hand at it. Growing up we had a garden a few times, but my grandpa always did a garden. So I'm so excited to have our own. We have the kids pray for the garden everyday so hopefully it wont fail us.

Father's and sons!!

This last weekend was our ward Father's and Son's. Preston loves this so much, he looks forward to it every year. They headed off at about 5:00. Dean said Preston was gone with all the boys in the ward most of the time, playing in dirt piles, looking at bugs, ya know "Boy stuff". The next morning before coming home, Dean took Preston shooting. They always have such a good time together. I love how close they are, Preston loves being around his dad more then anyone.

Mother's

First off...I have the best two mom's in the world. One raised me, and the other raised the most wonderful man in the world. I love them both. "Happy Mother's day " to my mom's. I hope to be like them when I grow up. Both very loving, unselfish, beautiful people. Next I had a great mother's day. My kids and hubby spoiled me this mother's day. I got Three of my favorite things. Yellow roses, Carmel apple, and chocolate covered strawberries. Yes, I was in heaven.
My kids made me the cutest cards, and Preston made me a notepad with his thumbprint on it that says "Thumb body loves you." I loved it. They were so great at making their beds cleaning their rooms, and getting ready for church. I love my little family so much. They make me want to be a better person, so I can be with them forever.

The Little Red Hen

Preston was so excited this year about his class play. He was mostly excited because he got to be one of the narrators. He loves to read, so when he was chosen to be a narrator he was ecstatic. The play was a musical and it was darling. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was also the video recorder as well, while Dean is away. The kids painted all the scenery, and he was so proud of the tie he made as well. He did a great job, and spoke loud and clear so everyone could hear. I cant believe he is getting so big. In a couple weeks I will no longer have a first grader, but a second grader. The school year has zoomed by for us. Preston loved first grade and is a very smart boy. We are so proud of him, and the person he is becoming.

We Finished....Dance!!

The girls dance recitals were this weekend. They did wonderful and really enjoyed dance this year. They went to a creative movement class and both really loved the teacher and the class. The recital was one big production/theater/3 hour long recital. It was based on Nursery Rhyme. Shaylee's was 2 Jack and oh so many Jill's. Addison was Little Miss Muffet. It was a different kind of dance..it told a story, and I really enjoyed that aspect just not 3 hours of it. One dance alone was over 12 minutes long.
Driving down to the recital the girls were falling asleep...because of the 2 late night rehearsals the nights before. So we busted out the camera to keep them entertained. Addison would open her eyes wide then they would slowly shut again. So she looks a little out of it in the top picture...and she was.

Thank you to everyone that came to the recital, sorry it was so long. You made the girls feel so special they were so excited people came to see them.

We Finished....Soccer

This last week we finished up a few of are activities we have been doing this year. The kids really enjoyed their Soccer season and they both wish that it would have lasted longer...I think I would have too if it didn't coincide with Dance, and Baseball. They had so much fun and really did well.
Shaylee was my little surprise with year. I thought she would be my little girl who sat on the field and picked flowers and cried if someone took it from her...BOY was I wrong. She is the best little soccer player I've seen. She was a fast runner, even over the boys on her team. She loved to score, and many times I could hear her grunting while she was trying to get the ball from the group of kids. She even shoved (she didn't get that from me...I think she got that from grandma Eves, my mom said Shaylee was just needing help to stay balanced so she would rely on others.) ;) Okay, mom!!! She would score goals each game and when she would we (her little fan club) would cheer...well she didn't like that part. She would turn around from scoring a goal and we would yell her name and cheer and she would stick her tongue on the side of her check (she does this when she is embarrassed or nervous) and look down at the grass. She wouldn't even acknowledge us over on the side lines. She had such a fun year and I think soccer is in her blood. (Yes!!! that's my girl).

Preston had a fun year as well...his was more of a building year. This was the first year they introduced throw-In's and goalies, and position's. That being said, they had coaches from a girls home, who had never played soccer before, and really could care less, but were just excited to get out of the compound. So the kids really did not learn to much, and us parents tired to teach them, but it's hard when they don't have practice to show them. Preston did have fun this year, and is really good at dribbling the ball, and getting past people. He likes to be a forward and score, and he is pretty good at that position. Learning new positions wasn't to fun for any of the team, they all wanted to be forwards and score the goals, but it was fun for Preston to get to try his hand at goalie and defender as well. He had a great year, and really is a great Soccer player/ball handler for his little age. He loves to score, and had quite a few this year. We are proud of you little man.
