Thanksgiving Holiday!

Thanksgiving 2011
We were able to go up North to visit Dean's side of the family. We had a great time being with family. All of Dean's brother's and sister's were their.
We left Wednesday Morning, and arrived that afternoon. We soon headed out to do a little shopping at the Layton Hills mall, and go out to dinner. We all ended up at Golden Coral, probably because the kids can find ANYTHING, to eat their.
The next day was Thanksgiving. We all enjoyed one another's company....and the 12" stack of ad's from the morning paper. Haldeen did a great job with the dinner. Everything tasted wonderful, and the company was great. We enjoyed watching the kids act out the story of baby Jesus. Preston was the narrator, Shaylee was a lamb, and Addison watched (because all the costumes she wanted were already taken.) Such is life. Playing a few songs on the Christmas bells. Also we were privileged to hear dad preform his Christmas dragnet. We love visiting family, and Grandma and Grandpa Monson did such a great job with everything. They've been on the hunt for awhile for little costume's for the kids to dress up in for the play. The girls loved dressing up they played with all the costumes for the rest of the weekend. We have such a wonderful family on both sides and truly feel blessed to belong to such amazing families.
Dean started out black Friday early by going to Walmart at 10. I stayed home tell he came to get me to go to Target, and Kholes at 12 a.m. We then went back over to Walmart to go through the leftovers. We got home about 2:30....then Dean woke up at 4:30 to head to Sam's Club, and Dicks sporting goods...and a lot of other places. He had a great time. We also did a lot of returns that day...(you know buyers remorse.). All and all we got Christmas done. Yea. I also talked Dean into taking me to see the new "Breaking Dawn" movie. It was alright. I mostly enjoyed just being with my husband on a date.
Saturday we did a little more shopping, and then all packed into cars and headed to Temple Square to see the lights. It was fairly warm for this time of year, so we all did alright. We then went out to eat at Sizzler's all together. Minus Quin and Dani who had to go home earlier that day. We had a great little holiday vacation and think it went by way to fast.

Cheer Camp

We did the Mini Cheer Camp again this year. Shaylee and Addison both decided to do it. I think they really enjoyed it this year. It was pretty cold and they had to sit around without their coats for quite awhile. They both danced very well and we love watching them preform. Addison went first and she danced to "Justin B". Then Shaylee danced and she danced to a "Spice girls song". After they danced they could stay down on the track and cheer with the cheerleaders and second half of the game. Shaylee ended up doing quiet well and enjoyed the cheering part I think the most. Addison also liked this part...but because they didn't have coats for a long time she was freezing, and wanted to be done a little early. I don't blame her...it was cold and I had on my coat. About 15 minutes later we grabbed Shaylee, and went out to eat. The game was pretty much done. We won 41-0 I think. So we didn't feel bad not staying for the 4th quarter.

October Student of the Month.

{Student of the Month}

A couple weeks ago we got a letter in the mail that read "To the Parent's of Shaylee Monson". I was a little nerves as I opened it, as to what it would contain. To my delight it said she was selected as student of the month for Kindergarten in the field of Writing. It said to please not tell the child and They would surprise them at an assembly in a couple of weeks. So we all waited for the assembly...I told Shaylee we were going to see Preston. Since the assembly was in the afternoon, and Shaylee has morning Kindergarten, I had to take her back to the school. I will admit it did make me feel a little bad, because we did see Preston and I think he got a little excited when he saw his parent's and grandparents their. I think he thought he was for sure getting something. Shaylee also was hoping Preston would get something. She turned to me when she noticed kids getting called up and said "Mom I hope they call Preston's name to go up, because there is no way I'm going up to the front. It made me laugh. She is a very shy girl, but when they called her name she sped walked all the way up to the front, and all the way back to her seat as fast as she could. We are so proud of her. She really does have great hand writing for a kindergartner. We love you Shaylee.
In this picture you can see how fast she was. I couldn't even get a good picture of her up there because she was so fast.

Halloween

{Halloween Night}
Halloween night came fast with all the festivities we had going on. Around 5:00 we went up to Grandma Eves for our tradition of Warm Chili, and donuts. It was a little lonely this year. Just us, Devin, Lisa, and Tynlee. We finished eating and hurried home to get dressed to beat the crowd out trick or treating. A little story. We moved into a neighborhood that gets attacked by trick or treater's on Halloween. They block off the road from 6-8 and everyone walks around not having to worry about cars. Well it's gotten a little ridicules. People will have to park their cars over a mile a way and walk here because there are so many cars and people. I didn't get tons of pictures, but there were a few spook alleys. A man with a chain saw going around scaring people, the headless horseman (my personal favorite).
And these big death eaters or whatever you call them.
We also had Sylvester the cat and Twitty rockin out to some music at one house. We had a witch that wouldn't let you leave her house for a good 5 minutes...we were the house after hers so we would have a big break while she entertained the people, then we would get a rush of 30 or so trick or treater's at a time. Dean stayed home and manned the house, while the kids and I walked around with Uncle Quin, and Aunt Dani.
We went through 1000 pieces of candy by 7:30, and we borrowed another 300 from my mom, but that only lasted us like 15 minutes. We had to turn our lights off at 8:00 because we were out of candy. Crazy I tell you..FUN...but...CRAZY. Well I guess we will have to plan better next year.
Preston was a Pirate...we got the costume out of Grandpa and Grandma Monson stash.
Shaylee was little Red Riding Hood.
Addison was Little Bo Peep...and she found her sheep.

Tynlee...the picture says it all. love that little girl.
