Last week in July wrap-up!!

Since I'm in the primary presidency we are over the 24th of July float and parade.  So of course my kids were on the float.  The theme was Children around the world.   We had our primary children dress up as different people around the world.  We were scrounging to find outfits that would work.  It rained all morning, but stopped right when it was time for the parade, then started back up when we were finishing. Thank goodness.

The kids had fun playing in the sprinklers.  They took apart our golf game, and used the pipes to hook to the sprinklers.  They had a blast this kept them busy for hours.  I was really impressed with there creativeness.

We then finished this last weekend off with a trip up to Zion.  We love getting up there when we can, and this time we asked Marie and Eric's Family if they wanted to come.  We had  blast doing the river walk, and then playing in the river. The kids talked Dean into catching little fish in the stream for them and all the girls carried theirs in plastic bags.  They were a little sad they had to let the fish go, when we were leaving.

Preston has been practicing skipping rocks.  He does good...sometimes...it's a work in progress.

On this trail there are squirrels everywhere...and they are not afraid of humans.  They get in your bags and try and steal your food.  This little guy found one of the kids Cheetos they dropped.

Bowling...with Grandpa and Grandma Eves!!

We had so much fun Bowling and going out to eat with grandpa and Grandma Eves a couple weekends ago.  We go bowling once every two years or so.  So that's telling a little about the scores. Needless to say we all had fun, and Grandma was the winner!!!  I forgot to take out my camera tell the very end so we didn't get pictures of us all bowling. Oh, well.

Stories...

The other day it was over cast and windy...of course.  So we stayed inside some of the day.  We decided to make stories to share with one another.  The kids really got involved in this project.  Of course Addison was the first one to lose interest.  She finished hers in about 30 minutes.  Preston finished his and Shaylee really put a lot of detail into hers and wanted to tell the whole story.  So she was done last I even finished before her.  Well of course my drawings are nothing like the kids.  I used Stick figures.  It was fun listing to their stories, and reading the words they tried to spell.  So much fun.  We waited for dad to get home to read them out loud to one another.  The were so excited and proud to show dad their work.  I couldn't help but take pictures of their great work.  Hope you enjoy some stories by the Monson Family.
