First Rice Cereal Attempt

I think I can say with confidence, he enjoyed eating his bib a lot more then the rice cereal.  The first night it went as expected.  Funny faces, gagging, learning to swallow and not spit it out, which I think 99% of it ended up getting spit out.  We learned from our mistakes, and tried again the next night.  No bib or clothes, we laid him down a little more to help it go down.  and it went OK.  He hated it more this night though, but I would say 95% spit out.  Improvement I know.  3rd night.  No bib, lay flat on back so the only thing he can do is swallow it down because it goes directly there, Added breast milk instead of water.  Yay, he liked it a lot better, and I think we got a keeper for awhile, we will see how it goes, and hopefully it get better each night. 50% spit out this night. We are improving. Ha Ha.

FALL Sports are in the AIR

We have been a little busy this last month.  A lot of running around involved.  We are having fun with Soccer this fall and fitting in Flag Football as well. Preston has soccer practice Wed, Friday, and games Saturday.  He has Piano Monday, and Flag Football Practice, Tuesday after Scouts, and games Thursday.  So his schedule is pretty filled up with many things.  It's a good thing he is such a great student and gets his homework done so fast, if he even has any.  He usually finishes everything the teacher gives him in class. Preston is on his Competitive Soccer team again, Dean is the assistant coach, and both enjoy each others company at the practices and games.  I have enjoyed watching this year, the weather has been very cooperative.

Flag Football started last week, and should be a interesting year.  I think Preston is the oldest on the team, and him and one other boy are big, the rest are little guys.  That's saying a lot because Preston is tall but has nothing else going for him, in the big area.  He usually plays QB, or running back.  He loves to play, and is picking up right where we left off last season.

The girls are on a city league team together this fall.  It is co-ed this time because they didn't have enough boys sign up because of football season.  I was a little bummed about this because my girls have so much more confidence playing against other girls.  Well, they both did awesome on Sat.  Addison defended that goal like you wouldn't believe, she is fast and can get the ball from anyone. Shaylee is a great offensive player and scored 2 of our goals.  Yay, girls we are so proud of you and love to watch you.  Sad to say though a lot of the kids games are around the same time, so Dean and I have to divide and conquer and text each other pictures, and updates.  I think this will only happen 2 or 3 more times, then most of Preston's games move to afternoon times.  We are loving life, and enjoying time together.

4 Months

Wow, time is going by to fast.  Brecken is now 4 months old.  He is getting so big, and learning so much.  He started laughing the week he turned 3 months.  He has the cutest laugh and we all love to hear it.  He is sleeping OK.  We put him down about 9 and he is up around 6:00-7.  Sometimes he cries himself back to sleep during the night, or we go put in his Bink, but he is pretty good about a least 8-9 hours.  He loves to suck on his hands, fingers, blankets, balls,  you name it if he can grab it or get it to his mouth he is sucking away.  He still spits up a lot, and he also slobbers tons.  So he is always wet, as well as anyone holding him.  He loves the bath so much and we can get him to calm down if we get him in one.  He loves being outside especially at night when the sun is no longer shining in his eyes.  He is starting to be more active, and alert.  He is constantly turning his head to sounds and noises.  Not so good when he's eating (we need it quiet for that one.)  He hates riding in the car, unless he is asleep. We used to put him to sleep that way, now he just screams.  Oh, well.  He is a wonderful joy to have, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives.
