Birthday Cake

Dean's Birthday was Oct 22.  I surprised him after work to take him out to dinner, while my mom watched the kids.  He chose Texas Road house.  I was so sick after I ate there.  I didn't like what I got, but I was still stuffed on all salad, roll, and onion blossom, that when my food came, I ate some fries, and put my chicken in a box to go.  Shaylee went to this birthday party where they gave all the girls everything they would need to make a cake, Apron, frosting spatula, pans, all the ingredients…so she has been dying to make theses cakes.  So while we are away, grandma is a trooper and lets Shaylee bake away.  She did such a great job, and we love grandma for letting her do this for Dean.  She was so proud of herself.  After cake and Ice cream we headed downstairs to open Deans gifts.  Dean's bosses birthday is the same day so his work threw them both a big party.  Hence the birthday balloons.  Breck was in Heaven.  I don't know what he loves more…dogs or balloons.  It would be a close one.  The night was great…thanks to Grandma and Shaylee for making Dean his birthday cake.

Fall Break 2014

Yes,  I know Shaylee looks thrilled to be getting her picture taken. ;)
We decided to head out of town for fall break and have some family time.  We ended up getting up to mom and dad Monsons'Thursday night around 7:30 or so.  We had to pick up a few things for the house so we had to take up the suburban and trailer.  I had to drive it up to Cedar City to pick up Dean from work….it was a little scary, but we made it and the kids were awesome.  We stopped at IKEA and then got a dinner and headed the rest of the way up.  Friday morning we woke up bright and early to meet my uncle to pick out some lighting for the house.  After that we had a lunch with grandpa and grandma and then headed up to Layton to a Nursery up there that has a bunch of pumpkin patches.  If you donate  a canned good, you can go for free.  We stood in line for probably 20 minutes for our turn to get on the hay wagon, and head out to find the perfect pumpkins.  Grandma was a life savor, and brought gloves, and a big bag to put some of the pumpkins in.  Brecken was the first to find his pumpkin…haha.  wasn't to hard, just find one he could hold.  Dean and I also found ours fairly fast as well, because we new we would need to be helping the other little ones.    Next, I think Addy had hers, then Shaylee, and Preston.   They were all so excited to see such big field full of just pumpkins, and we had to look everywhere to find just the right one.  It was a blast, Thank you grandma Monson for telling us about this place, and for going with us.

Later that day we headed out to Discovery gateway.  Preston had got two free passes from an assembly he went to so we took all the kids.  Breck was in Heaven.  Shaylee, and Addison had a blast and could have stayed there another 2 hours.  Preston was a trooper, and was ready to leave about 10 minutes into it, but he was nice and let the other kids play for a couple hours.  We then met up with Grandpa and Grandma Monson to go to Dinner.  We of course watch some type of ball game every night while we were up there.  I feel asleep every night, and then would hear Preston and Dean a couple hours later come to bed…they stayed up way to late too many nights, they were exhausted from this trip.  Saturday we woke up and headed back out to IKEA, to get a couple more things, we couldn't live without, and then while bracken was sleeping Dean took the kids to Scheels, and let them play in there a couple hours, and go on the Farris wheel.   We then headed back up to the Monsons' where they watched the kids while Dean and I went out for his birthday dinner.  Since he would be working the day of his birthday.  We ended up at City Creek and went to Cheesecake factory.  It was so good.  We both tried something new and it didn't disappoint.  We then headed back to the house picked up the kiddos and took them to get Ice cream.  We ended our stay with of course a ball game, and great company.  It was a great trip and glad we got to spend time with family.

Sleepy Hallow Farm...

We live right next door to "Sleepy Hallow Halloween Farm."  So we decided to hit it up with the cousins.  Everything is more fun with cousins right?   We first started the night off with a hay ride into the farm, as well as seeing the headless horseman.  We grabbed some dinner, then headed off to do some of the fun activities.  Of course since it's a FARM. Brecken was in heaven talking too, petting, and feeding all the animals.  He loved the horse, and goats the best.  The big kids loved the slide, and going on horse rides as well.  Shaylee was nice enough to take Breck along on the train ride, while the other kids went by themselves.  We ended the night with face paining and the maze.  Such a relaxing night….minus the horse and cow manure smell :).
