Addison turns 8!!

Addison's Birthday weekend came to a close Sunday.  She turned 8 years old on Sunday the 25th, and was so excited.  We have 9:00 Church, so she opened up her birthday cereal to eat, and a hola hoop too.  She couldn't wait to get home from church to open the rest of the gifts.  She love everything she got and she was so fun to watch open things.  Later, that day we had cake and Ice cream.  She is so loving, always wants to help with Brecken.  She loves Pizza, and Taco's.  Her favorite color is still yellow.  She is in 2nd grade.  She loves to play soccer, and basketball, and be outside playing something.  She is really easy going, and forgiving.  She is so excited to be baptized this next month, and can't wait.

Soccer Tournament

Preston played in a soccer tournament in Mesquite this last weekend.  Dean and I had to divide and conquer that weekend  We had Addison's Birthday party, and birthday that weekend.  So Friday, because Dean didn't get off work tell right before Preston's game, we sent him down with some friends.  Boy did they have fun.  Then Dean made it down and watched Preston play in his two games, while I stayed behind and had a Birthday party for Addy.   They played at 12:30 Mesquite time, and then again @ 6:30.  So to kill time between games, some of the kids went bowling, and then to Pizza Hut.  I don't know who was more excited to tell me about their day, Preston or Dean.  Dean came home so proud of himself for playing the best game he ever had, and Preston came home to tell me dad has been bragging about how well he did bowling.  He's reliving his glory days of high school and college.  Preston was excited to tell me they had won that night.  Sounds like they had a good time.  Saturday morning, I took Preston down to his game, while Dean stayed and took girls to their last Basketball games.  The team did well overall.  We won 1 and lost 2.

Addison's Birthday Party!!

Addison's Birthday is on a Sunday.  We celebrated her birthday with friends on Friday.  She had a "Un" Slumber party.  We've decided as a family about 5 years ago, we would not allow sleepovers,  but we found a cute party idea online that did all the stuff you would at a slumber party, but then when it's time to go to bed you go home instead.  (Win). We tried to make the invites look like a sleeping bag with a pillow,  We had all the girls wear their PJ's and bring a pillow.  I was little worried about doing this party by myself, with Brecken.  I knew Dean would be down to soccer tournaments for Preston.  Shaylee had a friend come over and they helped me with all the decorating and party games.  I think Addison had so much fun the girls were all so much fun.  We started with a little game, then went to eat dinner.  The girls stayed there forever.  They loved setting at the table and just talking, and making each other laugh.  I had to force them away by saying it was time for fingernail painting.  After the fingernails, we cuddled up with all our blankets and pillows, and watched a movie together tell all the parents came.  I think over-all it was a success.  I sure do love this girl.  She kept saying all night "Thank you mom, Thank you so much."  What a little cutie.

Don't mind pictures of Brecken in the mix.  I couldn't get these balloons away from him the entire day. To say he loves balloons would be an understatement.

Two girls showed up a little late and missed the group picture so I had to put them in separately.

While i was helping paint girls nails at the party, this little dude helped himself to all the movie treats.  He was in heaven.

A Little Late

We always take the Binkie away from the kids at 6 months…during the day, and then 12 months at night.  Of course going along with the youngest child, Brecken's has got pushed back.  We moved into my parents house when he turned one, and I didn't want them to have to deal with a crying baby at night and naps, so I held off tell we moved.  Well, we moved in December and Brecken has been sick 2 out of the 3 weeks we have been here.  So, I waited tell this last week to get rid of the binkie, but lets be honest, it was just excuses for me to enjoy a good nice rest, and nap time.  I was not looking forward to doing this.  Friday night I had Dean, with Brecken's help cut his Binkie nipple off.  I then let him carry them around the house and hold them the rest of the night.  He learned that when he put it in his mouth it would fall out, so he went and threw them in the garbage.  I think that helped a lot, because he realized they were broken and wouldn't work anymore.  He waved goodbye to me when I put him in bed, and went to bed so well.  The next day I reminded him about the binkie's and let him hold them again so he remembered they wouldn't work and he took his nap great.  So, so far so good.  Let's hope it keeps up, and that he won't get sick anytime soon.

Ice Skating

We decided to head up to Cedar City to take the kids Ice skating for Christmas Break.  We had went once before, last Thanksgiving with the Monson side of the family.  That was our fist time, the kids learned a lot for the first time to the second time.  They all had gotten roller blades for their birthday's this last year so I think that helped a lot with the kids Ice skating abilities.  It actually was a very pleasant day.  The rink is outside, and it had snowed a couple days before so the ice still had some snow on it.  It was really crowded, but that didn't stop Dean and the kids.  Brecken, and I sat on the bleachers and cheered on the others, and played in the snow.  He hated having cold hands.  He cried, and cried when they got cold.  Overall it was great weather, and a great day.
