Happy Birthday Dean!!

Dean's birthday this year was a tough one for him.  He was going into his last couple days of work, and was leaving at 6 in the morning and not getting home tell 7-7:30 at night.  So we decided to do our date night Saturday for him.  We did try and get a little birthday cake, and presents in though.  The kids had all made him cards, then of course there is Brecken who is a little ocd when it comes to staking and straightening and making sure things are how he wants them.  So while Dean was reading everyones cards Brecken was hard at work.  We opened all the goods, then the kids surprised Dean with a New Golf Bag.  Then Shaylee came down with an extra gift for dad.  I have to say Shaylee has been doing this gift for a couple years now, but we always forget about it.  She loves to wrap up he underwear and give it to her dad to see his reaction.  She laughs so hard every year.  She gets her humor from me ;).  We then had cake and Ice Cream and let dad relax after a long day.  On a side note….There is a story behind the golf bag gift.  I had to have surgery a couple weeks before Deans birthday….(I don't remember any of this story).  Dean came into me the night of his birthday, and says I don't want you to get mad, but I want to tell you something…I went ok…what?  He goes I kinda new what I was getting for my birthday.  I couldn't believe it.  I even hid it over at my moms, so I asked how he knew.  He then began to tell me that when I was coming out of my surgery I was really loopy, and was talking about all sorts of weird stuff.  Then I stopped and looked at him, and said " I got you a golf bag for your birthday, but don't tell anyone it's a secret.  He said I said it a couple of times.  So he thought it wasn't true since I was saying all sorts of stuff, and forgot all about it.  Well, When he saw the golf bag on his birthday he laughed a little bit, but then got composed to not ruin the surprise.  We both sure got a kick out of it as we layer in bed that night and he was telling me this story.  We sure love our Dad, and I sure got the best husband.  We love you Dean.

Preston really wanted dad to not like his golf bag, and hopefully give it to him.

Daddy Daughter Activity Days

We had our annual Daddy Daughter Activity day this year, and I think it was a success.  We played a Fear Factor style activity.  We played 6 different activities…build a mummy, bob for turds, bug throw, spaghetti creep crawly dig, jello activity, and last man standing in a balloon popping competition.  We had finger foods, and a photo booth.  I was in charge so I got to be there with the girls and Dean.  The girls were in heaven to have dad there.

We love BABIES!!

My sister Lisa and her family moved back to St. George.  Yay!! We are so excited to have them back, but Baby Laiklyn has stolen our hearts.  We fight over who holds her first, Who feeds her, Who can change her diaper (true story).  Of course when I say we fight I'm in on it, and I usually always win since I'm the mom of course.

Fall Break part 2

After the Pumpkin patch we did a little shopping.  We then met up with Grandma and Grandpa Monson and Some cousins to go watch a Jazz scrimmage/Practice.  Dean did this with his Dad growing up and he was so excited to share this experience with Preston and the kids.  Preston was in heaven.  The girls were actually in heaven as well.  they kept taking pictures of all the HOT players they likes.  (OH GEEZ).  We had fun, and then ended up leaving so we could get home to watch some of the BYU game.  Dad had recorded it so they could watch it from the first.

While the boys were out watching football we found the girls in Grandma and Grandpas bed watching girls shows, as they put it.  The next day we got up and headed out to do some shopping.  My kids were all in need of some good winter clothes, and shoes.  After shopping the family went ice skating with grandma and the Hansen cousins again.  They sure have enjoyed Ice skating the few times they have been.  I never went once growing up so they surpassed me in this sport as well.  They all had fun. After ice skating we all went out to eat dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  We of course ate way to many rolls, Peanuts, and appetizers, that by the time the food arrived I was full.  We had a great evening then headed back to watch the Utah football game.  Yes, this is what my weekends consist of.  Soccer games, and football.  We headed home after a wonderful Breakfast from Grandma Sunday morning.  It was good to see them for a couple days, and hang out with cousins.  We sure do love visiting with them , and can't wait for Thanksgiving.
