The big 14 for Addison

Addison's Birthday was on a Monday.  She had a big Basketball rec tournament that night so we took her out shopping and to dinner on Saturday.  Shaylee and her shopped and then she chose Texas Road House for her dinner place.  She loves A1.  lol.  Which means she gets the steak so she can have A1 with it.  That night when we got home her friends throw her a surprise party at her bff Haley's house.  When I  dropped her off she didn't seem to think anything was up, but apparently she had an idea of what was going on.  She had a blast. Sunday we celebrated her birthday with the Eves family with cake and Ice cream. After celebrating all weekend  we woke up bright and early on Monday so Addison could have her Birthday donuts and open presents.  She asked for a smoothie for lunch, but after I  got the smoothie she informed me she wanted DQ chicken strips.  We ran and got those with a balloon and took it to her school for lunch.  When she got home we took time to go through her presents and told her we had a phone for her.  It just calls and texts, and takes pictures but she doesn't have any apps.  We will see how it goes.  We made one of her favorite dinners and headed to her basketball games.  They ended up losing by 1 basket in the semi finals.  I  can't believe she is 14.  She has so much love, and is such a good help around the house and with the boys. She loves a messy room.  haha.  The girl cant seem to keep it clean.  She loves being involved and be with her friends.  She has taken up tennis this last year, and still does basketball.  She is in 8th grade and loves being up at the middle school.  We sure are lucky to have her in our family, and love her so much.  

 

Snow on the 25th. Addison's Birthday.

 We got a little bit of snow on Monday night while we were getting ready for Addison's basketball games.  It was coming down really good and fast.  The boys wanted to go out and play in it, but we were heading to basketball so I  told them tomorrow morning they could.  It snowed a little through the night and was so cold the next day it stuck around. By the second day our side of the street was all melted.  It was fun while it lasted.  Also, the boys didn't last to long in it.  They do not care for the cold nad didn't have the proper gear to last to long anyway.

Keeping Landon busy...

Landon loves to play.  He, however does not like to play alone or without an adult or older sibling.  Since it's just him and me for most of the day I get to come up with a lot of things to keep him busy.  Or really he comes up with the stuff and I  just have to go along with it. He has gotten into playing guns since most of his sports are outside and it's too cold to go out there for to long.  I  got sick of playing build forts and shoot the darts at mom, so we try and make targets to practice on.  We've used paper plates, magnet blocks, paper, and my personal favorite pans.  This keeps him busy for quite some time.  Man I  can't wait for it to get warmer so we can last a little longer outside.

 

Brecken and Addison's Rec Basketball comes to an END!

Brecken and Addison Finished out there rec season strong.  Breckens team kept getting better as well as Brecken.  He had a great year and played amazing.  He was a great shooter and defender.  Loved watching him grow and learn the game.  Addison's team struggled with enough players becasue of covid.  We were always down a player it seemed like, but they held their own and lost by 2 in the semi final championship tournament.  She has loved basketbnall and still has her club sesason left.  Then she will have to decided if she want to put forth the effort to get better to play high school.  

 

MLK Day!

Dean had MLK day off as well as the kids so we went out shopping and hanging out as a family.  The girls could shop for hours just like their dad...I'm more of a hour type shopper.  Addison might be more like me too, but when she is with Shaylee she tends to get more excited about things.  We found this cute HOPE sign in the mall and the girls wanted me to take their picture by it.  After we hit up the mall, target, TJ maxx, Old Navy, and Dicks we got Durangos and Chick fil a for dinner and meet Preston at home for a movie and dinner.  Preston had golf or something so he couldn't go with us. I  took these pictures of Preston because he was in the fetal position apparently cold.  He's always cold. It was a fun relaxing day just spending it with family. My favorite.

 

Great Weather means Park day.

We had some beautiful 60 degree weather in January.  We took advantage of it and went and let the boys play at the park with a friend.  Brecken was trying to make it through all the monkey bars without falling.  I  took some pictures on his last monkey bar.  He made it through 4 of them.  Love Southern Utah weather.

 

High School Basketball

Shaylee has had a great basketball season so far, and it getting some good playing time.  Which makes it fun to watch.  She usually plays wing, but has had to step down for post a few times because one of their posts got hurt. So it's been a good learning experience for her.  She has a great looking shot and is loving playing with her friends.  We are halfway through the season and they have only lost 2.  We are hoping to get both of those back because one we lost on a last minute shot.  Its so fun to watch Shaylee play at a high school level.
