Utah Hockey game

For Christmas I  got the boys Utah Hockey Club game tickets.  They've been wanting to go and pricing has been so high on them, but we were able to get some up in the nose bleeds and made it so they could all go together.  The younger boys were excited to see Preston most of all, and I  think they all had a blast at the game.  They ended up losing the game after being up the whole game but they still had a good time.  They stayed the night at grandma Monson's since it was a late game and came home the next day for Landons club basketball game.

 

Ballroom student showcase

Addison has been working so hard on ballroom and got together with a few girls and choreographed a couple dances.  She loves it and looks so good up on the stage.  She spent some hours learning and making up these dances and it was fun to see her hard work pay off.  I sure do love this girl.

 

Bridesmaid Shaylee

Its weird to think that my kids friends are getting married.  Am I that old?  Shaylee was a bridesmaid for her friend Kaili.  She had to take some finals and hurry and do an down and back but she made it and the weather was actually really nice for a December day. She was with some of her other friends Ni Ni, and Whit.  It of course was a long day, but a great day for a wedding.

 

CLub Basketball

Another Saturday another Club basketball game.  Landon has really enjoyed being on the u8 club basketball team with most of his friends.  Its been good for him to have some tougher competition and see what he can work on.  He is working hard and learning the game.

 

Addison turns 18!!!

Addison is legal.  She turned 18 on her birthday.  She wanted some work clothes since she started working at Lisa and Devins spa and nice shoes to wear.  She also wanted a taylor swift album so we had to find a new one she hasn't got yet.  She didn't want donuts this year and asked me to grab her a smoothie instead.  She had to work on her birthday so we met her down in St. George to go shopping with her and out to dinner.  She invited her friend Maddie but I  didn't get any pictures.  She wanted Chili's but it was closed. 2nd year in a row on her birthday they have put a sign out saying they are closed for the day.  Anyway we ended up at Applebees.  It was a long wait.  After she came home and her and Maddie watched a movie together.  I  can't believe she is 18 where does time go.  She is almost done with high school.  She only has like 3 classes.  She is taking math 1050, seminary and ballroom.  She works at the spa for Lisa and Devin on the days she doesn't' have class.  She is messy.  lol.  That hasn't changed though.  She has a wonderful smile and is so nice to little kids.  They all flock to her.  Really.  She loves potatoes.  Chips, fries, mashed, you name it she loves them anyway possible.  She got accepted into all the schools she applied to so she is trying to decided where she should end up.  I  love this girl and am so proud of her. 

 

Working hard.

For Christmas I  had bought some new nightstands and dresser for our room.  I  talked Dean into helping me put it together.  I  love doing this kind of stuff, but soon got pushed out of my position because I  had two little boys who also decided they loved to use teh tools and put stuff together.  They got quite good at it as well.  Their favorite was using the drill.   

 

Shaylee's Mission call

Shaylee has been ready for this mission call for over a year.  She is 19 already and could have put her papers in spring of her senior year, but she decided she wanted to see if she could handle living away from home first.  So she thought College for a year and then mission.  She put all her papers in and submitted on a Sunday and one week later we got the call.  It was super fast.  She was so worried about where she was going and said anywhere that isn't cold.... or that has lots of cats. lol.  She had put on her papers that she spoke some mandarin Chinese and took a little test for that.  So I  thought it would be somewhere where she could speak mandarin so did Dean as well.  She got her call on a Tuesday morning and then we had to wait till Sunday night to open it so everyone could make it down to her house and everyone could be here.  Her roomates all came down with her as well as Preston and all his friends.  We had so many family and friends come and support her.  She was so emotional and shaking that when she read it it was hard to hear her.  When she got to her call she was crying none of us could hear.  Needless to say she got called to Edmonton Canada mission.  He really good friends had said that was were she would go.  I  thought she would go somewhere in Canada speaking mandarin, but Nope she is speaking English and she is going to Deans mission.  We are all so excited.  Shaylee was a little upset because she does not like the cold, but She will be okay and is getting really excited to serve.  She will start her mission June 30th 2025,  She will do one week of home MTC and then head up to the Provo mission training center to finish it off.   The good news is she is arriving in there warm months so maybe she can acclimate to the weather as it comes.  Shaylee has known she wanted to serve a mission for quite sometime.  I  didn't know how I  felt about her going (she's my girl).  but she has such a strong testimony and knows this is what she needs to do and we are all here to support her.  We had a great night and felt the spirit confirm to us that Shaylee's call is from God and she will do great things.
