The BIG 5!!!!

Addison's Birthday
January 25th
My baby turned 5 years old this past week. Oh, what fun was had. We first started off the day with some homemade waffles with whip cream and sprinkles (requested by Addison). She of course ate all the whip cream and sprinkles and then told me she loved eggs...(good thing I know my daughter better then she does). Because eggs where waiting as stand by. We then got ready, and opened up her presents. She then headed off to school with her homemade cupcakes. She invited a friend to lunch at McDonald's and then home to play. Later that night she couldn't make up her mind where to eat so we brought dinner to her. Cafe Rio salad (hers and Shaylee's favorite), and chips and salsa from Chili's also her favorite.
(Addison wanted me to take her picture of her sour face..while she eating a lime.)
She then watched a movie she got for her birthday. I think she had a great day, and enjoyed being spoiled by her family and Grandpa's and Grandma's (Thanks for the cards, and presents). After her birthday on Wednesday she went to her other preschool and, took homemade cupcakes as well and, got to celebrate her birthday again with them. On Sunday we had cake and Ice cream up at Grandpa and Grandmas house. She choose a Barbi cake go figure. And loved the toys that came on it more then eating it. So we are partied out to say the least. We love you Addison and are so proud of who you are becoming.
You make us laugh daily. I cant remember a day you have forgotten to give hugs and, say I love you. You are very kind. You are a peacemaker. You love to make people laugh. You enjoy riding your bike, and coloring. You are getting so good at writing your letters. You have also started to sound out words, and our bringing home books to read to us from preschool. You love to DRESS-UP. Anything with jewelry and high heels you are there. You also love to get into fingernail polish, make-up, lip gloss, really anything to glam yourself up. You love walking in your high heel shoes, and I always can hear you coming, because of how loud they are on the wood floor. You love playing with your bother and sister, and I think you guys are truly best friends. You love the color pink...even though you say your favorite color is yellow (to be like mom). We love you Addison "Happy 5th Birthday".

Basketball Season

This is the first year that Preston has been able to play rec basketball, they make you wait tell your in second grade. (I always have hated this rule). Preston sure has enjoyed playing, and it's fun to watch him out on the court. They play coed and do not keep score. Even though Preston's coach does, and he lets them now if they won or not at the end of each game. He seems to be enjoying himself, and that's all that matter's to me.

The Tooth Fairy!!

Shaylee's 1st lost tooth
January 7th 2012

This past week while I was helping Shaylee brush her teeth, I noticed her 6 year old molers coming in. After that I decided to check for lose teeth. We found 3 or 4. She lost her first tooth last night. Dean pulled it out for her and she was actually a lot braver then I thought she would be. She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come she carried her tooth around in a little baggie tell it was time to put it under her pillow.
She was spoiled...(it being her 1st tooth and all). The tooth fairy left her some cash money...as my kids like to call it. They grow up to fast.

It's great to be 8!!

Preston's Baptism announcement I made, and a few pictures taken by aunt Marci...for his baptism day.

Got a little teary eyed with this picture as well. I know times goes by to fast and he will be big enough to fit in that suit jacket, and have his own name badge in the place of his dads.

Preston's Baptism Day!
January 7, 2012
WOW!! We had a great weekend. Preston is now officially a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. So Proud. It started out as a beautiful day. We had to be at the church at 9:00 to get ready. Preston told me the night before he was a little nervous, because he was afraid something would come up out of the water, and he would have to get baptised again. It was kinda cute. He was pretty excited for his big day. We had a FHE on baptism, the Monday before, and he had his interview with the bishop also so he was counting down the days. I thought the program went great everyone that helped did great. Both grandpa's gave the talks. Grandpa Monson gave a talk on Baptism..He did a great job telling Preston a little about his baptism day, his dad's (Deans) day, and about Jesus baptism day, Preston really liked it. Grandpa Eves did his on the holy ghost, and had a book to show pictures. Preston loves that book and I've caught him reading it a few times. Grandpa Eves, made it so that all the kids understood how the holy ghost works, and when it could help guide you. I will admit I got teary eyed. Okay, I cried. I couldn't help it, life goes by way to fast, and I couldn't believe my boy was old enough to be baptised, and the fact that he choose to be baptised. As Preston and Dean came into the water my heart swelled knowing that we were doing what the lord has asked us to do, and that both my boys were there together just made me cry. I know Preston made the right choice that day and Heavenly Father and Jesus were very proud of him as well. Okay, enough...next he was baptised which he only had to do once. Thank goodness. All the cousins also sang at the baptism, which of course made me cry as well. They all sang "When I am baptised"...or the rainbow song, as my kids call it. We had great family support, and I just wanted to take a minute and write down the names of all the people in Preston's conformation circle. Dad confirmed him, we had both sets of grandpas. Uncle Joe, Uncle Eric, Uncle Quin. Uncle Matt, Uncle Devin, My Uncle Ray. Family friend Brian Jocelyn, and Bishop Pearson. The spirit was strong, and We had a great day.

We then returned home as fast as we could to have a little brunch, since it was only 10:15. We had a busy , but GREAT day. I know Preston wont forget it and I know he felt all the love and family support from everyone. (People at Preston's Baptism). Brittany and Kaden Hatch. Brian Shirlyn, and Chelsea Jocelyn. Uncle Ray and Aunt Jill. Aunt Amy, and Aunt Stephanie. Grandpa and Grandma Eves. Uncle Matt, Aunt Marci, Jaden, Tanner, and Kendyll Eves. Uncle Devin, Aunt Lisa, and Tynlee Graff. Uncle Joe, Aunt Sydney, Carlee, Brooke, and Parker Mellen. Uncle Quin, and Aunt Dani, Grandpa and Grandma Monson. Cousins...Paige, and Ammon Hansen. Uncle Eric, Aunt Marie, Allie, and Sadie Lemmon. With Bishop Pearson presiding over the baptism.Preston had his first basketball game of the year @ 11:00 an didn't want to miss it for anything. So we ate fast and hurried out the door. He had a great time with all his cousins, and grandpa and grandmas Monson there. We weren't expecting much since this is the first year they allowed 2nd graders to play. They didn't keep score, but the kids had fun, and Preston did awesome. He made a bunch of baskets, and did well with his ball skills, it was fun to watch. Then I ran home to go to a cousins bridal shower, while the rest loaded up to go hike the red rocks. By that time the wind decided to pick up and it was miserable if you were outside. Dean said they all got pelted with red sand, and had to go back and all take showers at Quin, and Dani's house. I met up with them to go out to eat at the Pizza factory (Of course).Grandpa Monson is an Artist. For each of the grandchildren turning 8 he prints off his hidden ABC picture and his hidden number pictures. They are amazing and I love that we have some of grandpas work framed and in our home. We are so blessed to have such great families. We sure did feel the love this last weekend.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!
2012

I cant believe another year has went by. Wow!! We had a pretty low key New years Eve. We went hot tubing up at grandpas, and he decided to pay the kids each a quarter if they would jump into the ice cold pool. I really me ICE cold pool. Addison ran down and jumped right in. I don't think she realized the water wasn't the same temp as it is during the summer, Because she came up and kinda forgot how to swim;) She was doggy paddling, and made it out. My dad said when she got back in the hot tub her heart was just a pounding. Anyway all the grand kids were so proud of themselves for doing it. Preston earned 5 quarters, Shaylee, and Addison earned 3 each. They thought it was great. I told them how stupid it was. At that age it's not. We then came home, and cleaned. We've had plenty of sickness going around our house the last few weeks and I've cleaned more then probably the hole time we've lived here, but it was a beautiful day so I aired out the house. We then went up to grandma and grandpa eves, and ate Yummy food...after which Dean had to leave to go to work. So Sad. I've spent 1 new years eve with him the last 5 years. We played lots of games, and the kids kept themselves entertained with games and movies downstairs. We did head home at 10 for bed, but I stayed up to ring in the new year with Dean over the phone at midnight. Lots of fireworks last night. Well I know this new year is going to be great, and I cant wait to see what is in store for us. I know what I'm wishing for;).
