WOW!! We had a great weekend. Preston is now officially a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. So Proud. It started out as a beautiful day. We had to be at the church at 9:00 to get ready. Preston told me the night before he was a little nervous, because he was afraid something would come up out of the water, and he would have to get baptised again. It was kinda cute. He was pretty excited for his big day. We had a FHE on baptism, the Monday before, and he had his interview with the bishop also so he was counting down the days. I thought the program went great everyone that helped did great. Both grandpa's gave the talks. Grandpa Monson gave a talk on Baptism..He did a great job telling Preston a little about his baptism day, his dad's (Deans) day, and about Jesus baptism day, Preston really liked it. Grandpa Eves did his on the holy ghost, and had a book to show pictures. Preston loves that book and I've caught him reading it a few times. Grandpa Eves, made it so that all the kids understood how the holy ghost works, and when it could help guide you. I will admit I got teary eyed. Okay, I cried. I couldn't help it, life goes by way to fast, and I couldn't believe my boy was old enough to be baptised, and the fact that he choose to be baptised. As Preston and Dean came into the water my heart swelled knowing that we were doing what the lord has asked us to do, and that both my boys were there together just made me cry.

I know Preston made the right choice that day and Heavenly Father and Jesus were very proud of him as well. Okay, enough...next he was baptised which he only had to do once. Thank goodness. All the cousins also sang at the baptism, which of course made me cry as well. They all sang "When I am baptised"...or the rainbow song, as my kids call it. We had great family support, and I just wanted to take a minute and write down the names of all the people in Preston's conformation circle. Dad confirmed him, we had both sets of grandpas. Uncle Joe, Uncle Eric, Uncle Quin. Uncle Matt, Uncle Devin, My Uncle Ray. Family friend Brian Jocelyn, and Bishop Pearson. The spirit was strong, and We had a great day.

We then returned home as fast as we could to have a little brunch, since it was only 10:15. We had a busy , but GREAT day. I know Preston wont forget it and I know he felt all the love and family support from everyone. (People at Preston's Baptism). Brittany and Kaden Hatch. Brian Shirlyn, and Chelsea Jocelyn. Uncle Ray and Aunt Jill. Aunt Amy, and Aunt Stephanie. Grandpa and Grandma Eves. Uncle Matt, Aunt Marci, Jaden, Tanner, and Kendyll Eves. Uncle Devin, Aunt Lisa, and Tynlee Graff. Uncle Joe, Aunt Sydney, Carlee, Brooke, and Parker Mellen. Uncle Quin, and Aunt Dani, Grandpa and Grandma Monson. Cousins...Paige, and Ammon Hansen. Uncle Eric, Aunt Marie, Allie, and Sadie Lemmon. With Bishop Pearson presiding over the baptism.
Preston had his first basketball game of the year @ 11:00 an didn't want to miss it for anything. So we ate fast and hurried out the door. He had a great time with all his cousins, and grandpa and grandmas Monson there. We weren't expecting much since this is the first year they allowed 2nd graders to play. They didn't keep score, but the kids had fun, and Preston did awesome. He made a bunch of baskets, and did well with his ball skills, it was fun to watch. Then I ran home to go to a cousins bridal shower, while the rest loaded up to go hike the red rocks.
By that time the wind decided to pick up and it was miserable if you were outside. Dean said they all got pelted with red sand, and had to go back and all take showers at Quin, and Dani's house. I met up with them to go out to eat at the Pizza factory (Of course).
Grandpa Monson is an Artist. For each of the grandchildren turning 8 he prints off his hidden ABC picture and his hidden number pictures. They are amazing and I love that we have some of grandpas work framed and in our home. We are so blessed to have such great families. We sure did feel the love this last weekend.

Congrats to Preston! What a wonderful choice he has made to be baptized. He sure is a handsome boy, Amber! Loved the pictures of him especially the one of him where he is wearing his dad's suit coat. Kaleb is a year younger and thinking that he will be baptized next year makes me happy yet sad that he growing up! Wish we could bottle them up forever! When did we get so old?
