Student Of The Month!!

Preston was March student of the month in Writing for the 3rd grade.  He was so excited to get his token, and a few other goodies.  He is one smart kid and spoiled me being my oldest.  Everything comes very easy to him.  He loves learning, and I hope it continues.  We sure are proud of him and love the man he is becoming.

Pinewood Derby Time!!

Pinewood derby has come and gone.  (Thank goodness).  Preston and Dean didn't have much time to devote to their car…really we had to do it on a Sunday, only time dean could do it.  They both spent some time on that car, and we were working on it clear up until the day before when we were supposed to weigh in.  So we missed the weigh in.  Dean and Preston brought the car in around 9:30 the night before the race.  I felt like the car felt heavy.  We had no way of knowing if it was to heavy so my brother and I got the bright idea to go to Lin's and use the Deli weight scale.  We put it up their and it weighed 3.2  What???? Pinewood derby cars can weigh up to 5 oz  we were so under when I felt like it was so over.  So Matt and I headed to ace grabbed more weights, and headed back to ace tell we got the right weight.  It looked like so much.  Dad put on all the extra weight, and we headed over to the church that night with Grandpa on speed dial, because we didn't know if Dean would make it in time.  We put it on the scale and sure enough 7.5  What???  We are so over it's ridiculous.  Dad brought the drill and we started taking off all the weight we had put on.  Ha ha.  ended up that the scale at the deli didn't weigh in oz like we needed.  Go figure.  We got it taken care of, and came in at 4.9.  Dean made it in time for the first race of Preston's.  He won that race.  You race the same person twice on both sides of the track.  He ended up winning every race in his den.  So then they raced the fastest car in each den.  Preston ended up winning everyone.  He was so excited.  We were excited for him.  Him and his dad worked hard on it and had a great time working together.  Don't know if we will go onto the big scout expo tournament, but if Preston had his way we would for sure be there.  I think we might be moving that weekend, that's why we

10 Months

10 months has come and gone.  Brecken had a check up this month.  He was 18.5 lbs, and 29" long.  He is a good length, but the Dr. thought he needed to weigh more.  Brecken is a pretty picky eater, hopefully he grows out of this.  Preston was pretty picky as well.  He loves to be outside, and loves to eat the leaves on the ground, or anything on the ground really…but he won't eat real food.  Go figure.  He is crawling everywhere, and getting into everything.  We already have to shut the bathroom door, and close the lid on the toilet.  He pulls everything out of drawers, and open everything.  He loves baths, and walking.  He walks with help, and loves to walk around furniture.  He has tried to just take off and go many times, but I think realized fast it takes more then what he was ready to do.  He says dada, and baba a lot, but mama only a couple times.  He still has No teeth….will see.  When people talk to him and smile at him, he does this shy smile buries his head into my shoulder.  He sleeps through the night, and usually takes 1 good nap a day, usually a little one in the morning and then a big one in the afternoon.  We sure do love this kid.

Spring Break

We had a great Spring Break, despite the fact we couldn't go anywhere.  Dean's Boss left for the Philippines for the week, his dad died.  He left Dean for the whole week on his own, and is still gone for 2 more days.  Dean has been working hard and getting home late.  He cares so much for those patients he goes above and beyond.  I would love to have that kind of Dr.  I hope I never have to go in and see my husband, but it's just because I wouldn't want cancer.  We missed him most of Spring Break, but loved when we did get to see him.
We start Spring Break off with a trip the helmet store.  The kids went with Grandpa Eves to buy some kids motorcycle helmets.  So they could start learning how to ride grandpa's little motorcycle.  We then met up at the park to play with some cousins and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Later we ended up at the grandparents house to play with cousins, and get in the hot tub.

Day 2 of spring break we ended up going to the Washington Rec center, and let the kids swim.  We went with cousins on both sides and had a blast.  No one wanted to go. We got done swimming around 5:30 and didn't get home tell 6.  So we had a fun day of swimming.

Day 3  We spent as a family, and headed to the red rocks.  We hiked around as best as we could with little brother, before he got sick of being held. Of course we tried putting him down, and he reached for anything, and everything he could put in his mouth.  Next time will take Dean to help, and bring a carrier.   We then went to a park for the rest of the time, and ended it off with a little chick-fila.

Day 4:  We had to get up extra early for Breck's Dr apt. We had to be down in St. George by 9:00.  We got a clean bill of health from Brecken, and headed over to the Children's Museum to meet up with cousins.  The kids have a great time there.  We ended up staying for a couple hours, then headed to Larsen's for lunch, and a glacier.  Yummy!!

Day 5:  We headed down to St. George again.  We had a home inspection at 10:00 and we needed to have the house clean and out of it by then.  We shopped for an hour or so then headed to the kids favorite place to eat.  Golden Coral.  (Yep, I'm nice like that…my least favorite place to eat…except their breakfast.)  We then meet up with Dean who got off early on Friday and headed over to try our hand at some mini golf.  It was really busy but we enjoyed the weather, and the company.  We then went over to Marie's who was nice enough to watch all the kiddos while Dean and I celebrated our anniversary.  We went shopping and out to dinner.  Love that man of mine.  We ended the night off with a movie at home.
