Chinese Fan Dance

Addison's 3rd Grade Chinese Fan Dance
Addison's class worked on learning a authentic Chinese Fan Dance throughout the school year.  They worked really hard on it, and she would come home all the time and show us parts she had learned. They showed it to the parents on the last day of school, and it was pretty fun to watch.  She did a fantastic job, and loves Chinese.

Fathers and Sons/GNO!!

The boys were supposed to have father's and sons may 20th, but I swear they find ways to get out of it every year.  The weather (wind) this year was their excuse.  That didn't stop us from telling them to at least go and eat dinner and leave us girls alone for a couple of hours.  We have had this night planned for over a month.  We started the night of with pedicures, and manicures.  Then we went out to eat to Addison's favorite place Texas Roadhouse.  After we grabbed some goodies and watched Fuller house on netflix.  The girls have been wanting to finish some of the episode forever, but the boys pretty much dominate the t.v. with sports each night in this house.  We made smore's in the oven and settled down for our shows.  The boys came home about 9:30, and by that time the wind had died down, but I could tell dean wanted nothing to do with sleeping in a tent with Brecken.  The baby….haha.  We did enjoy the evening even if our night was cut short by the boys in our life, we sure do love them.  I sure do love spending some one on one time with the girls.

Brecken in sickness, and smartness….

Brecken decided to get sick with a fever toward the weekend.  Thursday he got really whiny and fevered and it stuck with him through Saturday.  He said his throat hurt, but Dean could never really get a good look into it.  He scared us a few times with how high his fevers would get…one night 106.2.  We were on our last weekend/games of soccer, and I didn't want to miss any so poor Breck had to go along for the ride.  He sure did struggle.  He did find a brief enjoyment from eating ice-cream from the carton.  I was just happy he was eating something so I let him.  He felt much better by Saturday night so we let him go to church.  On Monday while we were folding laundry he grabbed my hand and showed me how he spelled cat.  I kept hearing him sound out letters while I was folding but thought nothing of it.  Sure enough he got all the letters for CAT on the board.  I was surprised, I haven't taught him any words let alone that one.  Ha ha.  He just turned 3 last week.  He is such a smart boy and surprises us all the time.  Today at story time they brought in baby goats.  Breck loved them as long as they didn't get to rambunctious or chasing after him.  He is the bravest of all my kids at this age.  I love it.

Soccer Season is Finished!! For now...

I only made it to about 3 of Shaylee's games, because Dean is her coach, and so that leaves me to get the other 2 to their games, that usually coincides with Shaylee's.  Preston played on two teams, so he double roistered, and Addison finished up her last season of rec.  We usually had about 4-5 games a Saturday depending on if a child or children had more then one game.  It was the longest season, and we are so glad to be finished.  Great year for both the kids.  Preston had fun playing up and loved the team so I think that is what we will keep doing.  Shaylee just loves soccer and gives it her all.  We love to see them happy, so I guess we will keep doing it.

UPDATE on Student Council

In one of my last posts I talked about Preston making it to campaigning round with student council.  We were so excited.  So Wednesday we had handout day.  I got the girls out of school for a special lunch, but first made them go help Preston and I hand out his bracelets.  The kids loved Breck.  He would walk around handing them there treat and go Vote for Preston.  When we got done with that, I took the girls out for their special lunch.  They had just finished up all their Sage testing earlier that week, and always beg to be taken out of school for lunch on a Wednesday, because they hate the food on that day.  So we waited tell Wednesday and took them to DQ their choice.  It was fun to listen to them talk and tell me all about the happenings at school.  Thursday came and it was video day at Preston's school for their student council.  He said his video was awesome and he was proud of it, and everyone loved it.  As long as he was proud of it, then Dean and I did our Job (Aunt Lisa helped too).  By Friday I think I had my whole family of pins and needles to find out if he made it or not.  They voted Friday morning, and they would know by Friday after school if they made it.  Preston called me to let me know, one of his good friends didn't make it….I felt bad, but was dying to know how Preston did.  He MADE IT!!!  He was so excited, and still is.  He doesn't give up and has the best attitude about things.  I love this kids.  I had to text Everyone and let them know.  He worked so hard that week, and I'm glad it paid off for him!!!

Brecken Turns "3"…not 5

Brecken has wanted to turn 5 since he turned 2.  I don't know why the number 5 is brought up so much, but he uses it for everything.  How many balloons…5, how many snacks….5 how old are you…2 i mean 5.  What time is it….8:35, or 555 or some number with 5 in it.  You get the idea.  It took us quiet awhile to convince Breck that 3 is an okay number to turn.  He even holds up 3 fingers now, but he still doesn't like 4 he want to just jump to 5 next.
We started his birthday off with a run to get donuts and balloons before he woke up.  When we asked for the balloons they informed us they no longer do it tell 8:00.  I knew that would be the first thing out of Brecken's mouth…"where are the balloons", but what can ya do.  We came home woke up all the kids and had Brecken open his gifts before dad and Preston had to leave for school and work.  He ate his sprinkle donuts, and played with all his toys and in his sand box he got in the backyard.  Its just a kiddie pool filled with sand.  A lot cheaper then a real sandbox, but works the same.  We got ready to head to one for Brecks favorite places to eat.  Chick f la.  He went with Grandpa and Grandma Eves, and Aunt Lisa and her family came as well.  Breck was a champ and wouldn't stop eating…even to go play in the play place.  He was excited to get his ice-cream with sprinkles.  He spent the afternoon playing int he sandbox, and riding his bike.  He wanted a cookie dough cake so we went to dairy queen to order one.  They really messed up on the top of it, and the inside, but Brecken didn't seem to care.  He loved it and ate it up.  He loved getting sung to and would sing along as well.  Grandpa and Grandma Eves came over for cake and ice-cream, and brought Breck some sandbox presents.  He was in heaven.    Over all I think this kid had a great birthday.  He knew his shapes and colors at 18 months, and while 2 learned all his letters and sounds.  He loves to color with markers, and paint.  Loves to ride his blue bike and play outside.  He loves Balloons.  I don't think he'll ever get over that one.  He is a picky eater.  when he likes the food he eats like a champ, but he doesn't like to many choices.  He sleeps well, and loves to play the most with his sisters.  They loves to entertain him. Loves playing timbers with dad, and being with mom every waking moment.  (Glued to the hip).  We sure do love this little 3 year old and we are so glad he blessed our lives.
