Bear Lake 2020 (year of covid). We made it up to Bear Lake the end of June, it was a really relaxing trip. Mostly because the weather was on the cold side with rain so most outdoor activities were put on hold. Which ended up being amazing and a much needed break from just going and going. We left Sunday afternoon and stopped at Grandma Monson's home to break up the drive and visit with her. Monday morning we head out and make good timing getting to the cabin. Its windy cloudy and rainy....and cold! It felt amazing compared to the southern utah heat. We got there and hung out playing games and went to La beaus for their famous raspberry shake and waited tell the clouds cleared up and then we went out golfing. It was a little chilly but beautiful weather. The family did a scramble. It was Dean and Devin against mom dad and Preston. It ended in a tie so they played the 9th hole again and tied again. It was fun to be with everyone. Tuesday morning we woke up and decided to go up the canyon to see if we could get tickets to the minnetonka cave. It started to really rain on our way up the canyon and when we got up there it said they were sold out. When it rains they said it gets really busy because everyone is looking for stuff to do that is not at the lake. So we had a little photoshoot next to the river up the canyon and had a great time exploring. When we got back we did highlights on the girls hair and that took most of the afternoon. We went and got another shake for all the kids and played games and watched a movie with the rain coming down the rest of the night. Wednesday morning we woke up bright and early to get tickets for the minnetonka cave. We had to split up our group because we couldn't have more then 9 in a group. So Dean Preston Shaylee and Landon were in one group and Dad, Devin, Lisa, Addison, Tynlee, Brecken, and Lake were in the other group. We had a blast walking through the cave. The not so fun part was having to walk the cave in our masks. We were dying with some of the stair climbs and just wanted to get a big gulp of air. Ladon did great and stayed in the lead for most of the hike. He wanted to climb every stair by himself. 889 stairs to be exact. After the caves we came home and had a late lunch. We then decided the weather was pretty and played games outside for most of the day. Volleyball, badmitten. It was still in the low 60's but the sun was out so we took it. We then went over and played another round of golf...this time we brought grandma Hannah and the little kids with us. We had so much fun hanging out together and driving the carts. Thursday morning we had to head down the mountain to spend the 4th with the Monson's. We cleaned packed up and decided to have one last Shake and lunch at La beaus with the family before we said goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma Eves and great Grandma Hannah. Even though we didn't get to enjoy the lake this year it was still one of the most fun years we have had up at the cabin. We sure do LOVE Bear Lake...Until next time.
