February 21-27tH (I'm Back....Like I never left)

Preston had a good week in Paraguay.  He had his interview with President, and was told the numbers will come just keep working hard.  They had this sweet old lady come to churh again that walks the hour and a hlaf to get to them.  They were able to finally set up a time to meet with her on tuesday afternoons. She doesn't want to do it at her home because everyone there is catholic.  She is an older lady and doestn' want to casue contention among her family so she is walking the hour and a half to get to the church on Tuesday for her meeting.  I'm excited to hear an update on that story.  His companion and him have been struggling to have anyone want to hear them and he was feeling down.  His zone and district leaders were getting after them, and he just felt like everything was going against them.  He remembered that it's not really about the numbers but the people.  He loves the people and knows if he puts him faith and trust in the lord and works hard the lord will bless them and the people they come in contact with. Preston had to give a talk in Church on Sunday and said it was the first time he felt okay speaking in front of everyone with his spanish.

 Preston sent an email, but he never goes in depth or anything so I  figured I  needed to start taking notes during our talks so I  could write it down.

Hey guys Elder Monson is back! We had a legit week this last week and so let's get into it. 

Bulk Season: Well guys Elder Monson has been back on the bulk grind. I am getting closer and closer to what they would call the welterweight division in UFC so look out cause I'm coming!

Things: I built a lego car, played with my yoyo, and thought about some good things that maybe I'd put in my autobiography one day 

Lady: our friend walked 1 hour and a half again to church so that was sick and I'm super excited

My talk: I had 23 laughs

I'm kinda the best of the best and unfortunately was the first speaker so the rest of the meeting was kinda a let down after I set the bar so high (kidding I promise) .. but I'm sure they'll learn and put me last for the next one..

Landon Spring Soccer

We started soccer the last Saturday in February.  Landon was so excited to start back up.  After basketball he has been asking when is the next sport.  Baseball started too, and I  think he would really like that one so I  think next year we will try that one out.  He had a good game and has gotten faster.  I  sure do love watching him play.  He had a goal and so many great shots on goal, but they let this one boy play goalie the whole game and he was good.  So we scored all of ours before this kid got put in as goalie and stayed there.  We won our first game 4-0.

 

Feb 20th Presidents Day/ call from Preston

Monday President's day the kids didn't have school again.  Since we had our family ski day the days prier we let Addison and Shaylee hang out with friends.  Shaylee went and played soccer with some friends.  Addison went up sledding with friends up Cedar Mountain.  Dean and I  did some errands washed clothes, the car,  it was a beautiful day so they boys did some one wheeling and we went and play pickleball with Grandpa, Grandma and Steph.  Then waited to talk to Preston.  He didn't get to talk long because it was late in the day and his companion still had to call home.  We talked to him for about a half hour.  They had transfers this last week and he is with his same companion and same area one more time.  He likes the area and the house so he was okay with it.  It's a big area so a lot of walking for miles and hours a day. Since it was such a short call I  don't think we got very much out of him. lol. But he seems to be doing well and loving his mission. 

 

Prank

I  saw a little video about this fart spray on social media and had to buy it.  I  sent the video to my brother Justin and told him I  was going to do it to the family on Sunday dinner and to Dean on Valentines day.  Great fun was had by all.  ha ha.  Dean had a complete come a part he couldn't stop gagging and coughing.  I  couldn't stop laughing.  I  put it under our covers so when he came to bed he would lift them up and smell it.  It was the best.  On Sunday I  took it to Sunday dinner and sprayed it while everyone was around the sink doing dishes.  I tried to not laugh too hard.  Mom was smelling rags, gagging, smelling the garage can, disposal you name it she was going to find the smell.  While we were playing a card game I  pulled it out under the table and that got them really good.  They went running for the hills.  I  couldn't stop laughing so I  told them I was the one farting.  Then mom asked if I  need medicine what I  had eaten the last couple of days and so on.  As I  was leaving I  sprayed it one last time by dad and showed them the bottle.  They couldn't stop gagging and laughing.  It was the best.  Man I'm funny.

 

Presidents Weekend...Family Ski Day

We didn't have school Friday or Monday because of Presidents day.  We knew it probably would be busy up at Brian Head, but we packed everyone up and headed out to Ski.  Quin and Dani had invited Brecken to go with Kai for his birthday so they were going up and we decided to go too.  We left around 8:30 to get up there when it opened.  We started out rough.  Shaylee didn't want to go, she hates snow and being cold.  Brecken had a double bloody nose and it wouldn't stop.  We finally sent him off with Quin and Dani and told him to change out the paper or put ice on it.  We struggled getting everyone ready to get out.  Once we were all set Dean and Shaylee stayed in line to grab her skis while the rest of us got up on the lift and headed out.  I died laughing.  I  had Landon I  had only been skiing once before and only lasted like 3 hours, but we figured it out together with Addison by our side and we had a blast.  We met up with Dean and Shaylee as we were going up a 3rd time.  We all got off and then I  went off with Landon while Dean handled Shaylee.  We went down 2 more times and Shaylee and Dean still weren't down.  We ended up getting lunch around 1:30 and waiting for them in the lodge.  They came in 2 hours later. lol.  Shaylee was sick and crying and Dean was relieved to make it down finally.  We ran into Matthew Jaden and Kendyll and had them join us for Lunch.  It was so busy but we finally found a place to sit and stayed there for about an hour or more.  We then got back up on the mountain.  Shaylee and Landon wanted to stay at the lodge and rest. So Dean and I  were able to go down a few times with Brecken, Quin, and Dani.  We had to wait in the lift lines and wanted Shaylee and Landon to go one more time with us so we got them ready and back out on the slopes to hit it up one more time.  Landon and I  zoomed and had a blast going in the powder.  Shaylee and Dean made it down in record time 35 minutes instead of her 2 hours.  She did so much better. We finally got everyone off the mountain and loaded around 4:30 we ended up calling in cafe rio and then picked up jack in the box for the kids in Cedar.  When we got back on the freeway we were only able to go a little way before we came to a complete stand still.  We were there stuck for almost an hour.  So the kids ate while we figured out what was going on.  We finally got through the wreck and it was smooth sailing tell we got home around 7:00.  It was a long day, but such a fun day!!! I  loved it.
