Tennis

Addison had Matches at D.Hills this week as well as up in Cedar.  Dean was able to make it to D. Hills where play was delayed for 2 hours due to severe heat.  Once they got started it was a good match.  Dean said it went back and forth and was all tied up so they had to go into a tie breaker.  They ended up losing in the tie breaker, but looked really good.  The kids and I made it up to Cedar to watch Addi, and her and Christen were trying hard, but it was windy and things were not falling our way.  We lost to Cedar fairly fast 4-8.  We are halfway through the season and we are hoping to get a win this week. 

 

Flag Football

Landon had his first Flag Football game and his team did great.  They are learning as they go and he had fun his first game.  He had a couple runs and a catch at the end that was nice, he pulled a couple flags on the other team so I  think he is figuring this out.  It is so entertaining to watch though.  Little boys running the wrong way with the ball because the other team is chasing them, pulling your own teammates flags.  Addison also refs flag football so we have some fun Wednesday nights ahead.

 

August 22-28th

Preston had just got his lunch when he called us so in a lot of pictures you might see him eating.  He said it was a little bit of a tough week.  Where last week they had so much success and promising contacts they only had one guy get baptised and the others all faded out.  The one mad was really excited though and I  think Preston mentioned his wife is a member.  He also had a Zone conference with his Zone.  President was sick so it was just his wife and senior couples.  He said it was a good conference but a little bit of a travel day.  He also let us know that they played soccer as a zone and they think they were stacking the teams and they put Preston on the "not so good team".  He was so offended and decided to bring his a game.  He said he scored 7 goals and assisted in 2 and his team won 9-7.  lol.  Still makes me laugh seeing that his competitiveness isn't gone nor is his humility!!  I'm glad they were able to have some fun on p-day and his ankle held up for him. 

 

Soccer has begun

Fall soccer has started.  This year Landon is one of the younger ones as he is playing in a group of 1-2nd graders.  He holds his own though and had a couple goals the first game.  He played amazing anywhere we put him on the field.  He had a couple friends from his grade he is getting to know better and gets along with good and has been having fun.  Shaylee is coaching his team and the kids seem to love her.  She is so good with kids.  Excited to see them in action all season. 

 

Shaylee's. 18th Birthday!!!

I  cant believe how fast my kids are growing up.  Shaylee turned 18 this month!! What?? Shaylee is such a beautiful girl inside and out! She is really into clothes and learning all the makeup tips these days.  She wanted a smoothie for her birthday breakfast so Dean ran and got her the smoothie right when the place opened at 7:00 and I ran to the store and grabbed the rest of the kids donuts. lol.  After breakfast we opened up some gifts before school and sang to her.  She went to lunch with ana and then hit up a drink place with her other friend rylee. Then we went shopping and dinner with her friend ana joining us.  She chose red lobster and loved it.  She has wanted her second piercings for about a year and I  told her she had to wait tell she was 18...so not a day later she was getting her seconds and then got one up on top even though I  advised her to please not. We also had a DQ cake a couple days later when she had time to eat it with us. She doesn't like cake and frosting but likes Ice Cream Cake. Also enjoy some throwback pictures of little Shaylee she was the cutest.  She was also the easiest baby for me.  I  sure do love her and am so proud of the women she is becoming.  She amazes me daily.
