Walking the Sheep

Addison nad breckens sheeps have gotten a lot better with walking since our first time.  Addison's still struggles from time to time, but overall its getting better each day.  On this day they decided to do an extira long walk and walked their sheep up to Grandpa and Grandma Eves house.  They were waiting outside as they walked up the hill.  Our kids love that grandpa has taken an interest in their sheep and grandma loves watching them.  The sheep were huffing and puffing when they got to grandpas so they gave then some water and let them rest and then headed back to the pins.

Preston was able to get out of the house a few times this last week one was to get a haircut and he said he could barely sit up in the chair.  He is so sick of being inside and being sick, but he has a hard time walking so they are taking bolts everywhere they can to help get preston there, which makes them spend a ton of money on transportation, but they really dont have another choice. Still dealing with some symptoms, but getting stronger each day.  One of the ladies in the ward gave Preston some banana leaves and told him to make this paste and set it on his chest while he sleeps.  He wasn't' so sure about that idea, but while we were on the phone Torgerson had made it all up and wanted Preston to put it on.  lol.   Those two are such a hoot together.  It's too bad Preston has had to deal with sickness while being his companion.  but it's also been a blessing.

Crimson Cliffs Prom

Shaylee's friend Ashlynn was asked to Crimson Cliffs prom with a boys she likes well he didn't have a group and some of his friends didn't have dates so they asked if she could get a couple of her friends to go to the dance with them.  She said it was really...interesting and that the boys still had a ways to go on learning social skills lol.  But she said she had fun with her friends and dressing up. I  will say what a couple of these boys wore to the dance was really interesting.

Addison's 17th Birthday

The years just go by so fast.  It seems like I  was just writing about Addison turning 16 and driving.  Here we are a year later and we have a 17 year old.  She didn't want donuts but got them so the boys would be excited, and that pretty much sums up Addison.  She is a helper adn a giver.  She is selfless (most of the time).  She loves Taylor Swift.  Like LOVES her and her music.  She loves tennis and hanging out with friends.  She does great in school, but could care less about going.  She just wants to be done.  Which she actually is really close.  She took a whole bunch of summer classes the last 2 summers and she pretty much has her credits taken care of.  She is taking some college courses this semester too.  Addison had her good Friend Emily hang out with us for her birthday.  She also invited the whole family out ot eat for here birthday.  She wanted to go shopping with Shaylee and Emily, and find some new outfits, and then she wanted to go to Chili's for dinner.  Well Chili's was closed because of a leek and so we ended up at Applebees.  She got all you can eat shrimp and wings and loved it.  She's A light to our family and always willing to help.  We love her so much!!   On Friday her friends enlisted me to help them throw Addison a surprise party.  We decided on a pink theme and to have everyone dress up.  We also feed them some KFC and Shaylee had put together some fun games for them to play.

Random photos from Janurary

I  know the picture below of my kids not looking at the camera and the mess around isn't the best picture.  I  had to document having all my kids home and all around me while I prepared dinner.  Each one was doing homework and it just felt so nice to have everyone home and around each other.  I  love them all so much and can feel the time slowly coming to and end when we will all be gathered around together.  We miss Preston already and Shaylee is leaving us this summer to head off to college so it will be a transition for sure.

Update from THE Elder Monson

Preston Monson

Hey everyone I hope you're all well! I know almost nobody reads these anymore and I'm not good at the
whole email thing but I wanted to put one in for the recent memories. For those that don't know, (which
honestly might be a pretty big portion of people as I don't really communicate with many these days 😂
I've been pretty sick for just over 2 weeks now. A couple saturdays ago I got out of bed and fell down. And
It's been pretty bad. The sick people in the mission always have to be in communication with President's
wife so that everyone knows what's going on and we can get the meds and do the things we have to do.
So she sent me to the hospital and they told me I for sure had Chikungunya or Dengue and prescribed me
meds and then told me that just to be sure they wanted to do a test and see if I had it. I did the blood test the
next day and it came back negative, so we were back at square one. That next Sunday our Mission
President and his wife came to our branch. Saw me and talked to me and took me to a fancier hospital.
They did the same test expecting different results because they were fancier and believe it or not it came back
negative as well. Well, I was out most of this week too. We ordered a couple of Bolts or Ubers to go and visit our
friends most progressing to invite them to church but other than that it's been here in the apartment. It's been a battle.
One big long weird bad dream haha. This last month or so has been some battles for Elder Monson but I've been able
to keep learning on applying how to put all my trust in the Savior and knowing that it's okay to not know why. Because
he knows why and will always be there to help guide and love even if we can't see it. So it's been pretty hard and difficult
but I made the decision to try and be like Nephi and not Laman and Lemuel. It's hard honestly. I find myself getting down
on myself and asking why a lot but just try and click the reverse and think of the blessings which are so many. One of
these blessings is that the Lord still does his work. We go once or twice a week like I said ordering ubers to visit our most
progressing friends. This Saturday we have the baptism for Noemi and we are really excited. A huge miracle for us.
I've also been given an incredible comp during this time. Elder Torgersen is like a brother and he's been amazing through
this tough time period. Really incredible the Lord's work. He sent me a stud of a comp. Pray for him though the poor dude is
stuck with me haha, we just had transfers and we're both staying so he has a bit longer with me! Anyways, tomorrow on
Tuesday we go back to the hospital to do some tests and studies and praying that we can find what's going on and then back
to working the hardest we can these last
6 months. Love you all and hope you're all okay!  -Elder Monson. (not a lot of pictures because of the sickness and
staying inside all day.
