Labor Day Weekend!!

We knew we would be in town Labor day weekend, so we knew we would be heading for Peach days.  We ended up staying around the house Friday since we had some appointments we had to go to later in the day, and Dean had to work.  So the kids and I had a movie night and stayed in for the night. The next morning we were up and headed to the Peach days parade.  This parade is defiantly the best out of all the parades throughout the year.  The kids had a blast, and the sun cooperated for the most part, and stayed behind some clouds.

We then headed over to do our annual Home Depot craft.  The girls were excited because they found a girl craft this year.  (a heart shelf).  I didn't have Dean with me to help with each project, so I thought we would have to take them home to finish them, but Preston did awesome, and he built his by himself, I just helped a little with the glue since there wasn't a lid on it.  Also the girls was really easy so we they did theirs really fast as well, I didn't really have to do anything this year.
We then headed off to find Cotton Candy of course, and look at all the booths.  The kids remember throwing the hatchets last year, and they wanted to do it again.  Well except Shaylee, she doesn't' like people watching just her.  (No center of attention for her).
We tried some dutch oven potatoes Yummy, then headed for home around noon, because we knew Dean would be getting up soon.

We decided to go to the Washington rec center and use there aquatic center.  The kids had a blast.  They loved doing the water slide, and lazy river.  Dean and I were even able to lay out, and let them go by themselves,  They had so much fun playing together, and thought it was so cool we let them do the slide and everything by themselves.  Of course we had our eye on them where we were laying, but hey they also had life guards, which was nice since we are the life guards at grandmas pool. We then grabbed a dinner to take home, and ended up having a great day.  The kids Thanked us over and over for taking them to the aquatic center.

Monday we decided to head to Vegas.  We wanted to go to this chocolate factory, M&M world, see the Lion exhibit at MGM,  play in New York, New York, and eat at the rainforest cafe.  We knew we had our work cut out for us.  But, first stop, The chocolate factory and cactus garden.  We got there and it was open, but no one was working in the factory that day.  So we walked around and listened for a little bit, we did get a couple free pieces of chocolate at the end of the tour, but were a little disappointed we didn't' get to watch the making of it.  We then walked around the cactus garden they had around the area.  We moved on pretty quickly from there to head to M&M world.  The kids loved the store, and seeing all the stuff.  They had a fun 3D movie we watched, and then we just looked around the 4 story building.

We then decided we were hungry, so it was off to the Rainforest Cafe.  We had never been there before, but we've heard a lot of people say it is good, and a fun place to eat.  The kids enjoyed looking at all the animals and fish. I do not think we will ever have to eat there again.  It's one of those places, you only need to do once.

After lunch we headed over to New York, New York, to play at Conney Island.  The kids had fun.  I told Dean it felt like the kids were gambling.  Quarters were getting used right and left, and we went through cash fast.  The kids had fun though, and each got a couple prizes.  A few older people played the games but didn't want the tickets so our kids got a few hundred tickets from people.  They loved this.
The kids seemed to be getting tired, and I knew we had a 2 hour ride home and school the next day so we headed out.  It was a fun little adventure for the day and I'm glad we did it with the kids.
