24th Of July!

Brecken tried out swimming for the first time.  He didn't like getting dressed.  The top was a little snug. Ha Ha.  It was really over cast and cool plus I had up the umbrella so he was able to open his eyes, and I didn't have to worry to much about the sun.  He loved the water it was a little chilly but after he got in he realized it was warmer then outside.  88 was the pool temp outside was 85.  He didn't last to long though.  Maybe 20 minutes tops.  Hopefully he loves the water as much as the rest of us.

The next day we celebrated the 24th of July.  The kids of course had to be on the float so Dean Breck and I were able to watch from the side of the road.

After the parade we hit up the Free movie at the movie theater, and then headed down to Apple bee's, and shop.  Later that night we watched "Oz", the kids really seemed to like it.  Then of course they had to sleep out on the tramp and do a few fireworks, for the day.  Overall we had a great day.  Missed being with family, but enjoyed our little family.  The kids loved the Sparklers by the way if you cant tell.

Bear Badge

Preston received his Bear badge this last week.  He finished it really fast.  So the rest of the year I guess we work on arrow points.  I've been in Bears for a couple months, and love being able to work with Preston, and the other boys.  He had a fun night at pack meeting.  He had to go into the Bear Cave to find his awards, and when he came out they gave him his bear fur/cover.  I'm proud of him, and his involvement in the scouting program.

Brecken 2 months old!!

He is getting so big.  He hasn't had his 2 month check up yet; because the Dr is out of town for most of July.  He will get all his checkups and stats in a couple more weeks on the 1st of August...so he will almost be 3 months by then.  We have weighed him with us on the scale and he is over 10 lbs maybe 11.  He sleeps a lot he has recently started sleeping tell about 4:00, so hopefully he will get better at least tell 6:00 would be nice.  He spits a lot.  Simple as that.  He is either really happy or very angry and tired.  He loves soft blankets, and already has a few favorites.  He is starting to keep eye contact for long periods of time, and has started to swat at a few toys we hang in front of him.  He looks like he might have blue eyes, but that is still to be determined.  He eats about every 3 hours, and loves to eat.  He enjoys laying on his belly and would rather be like that then on his back.  I think it all has to do with his reflux.  He also loves to be held with a lot of pressure on his belly as well.  He is a joy, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives.  The kids still love him, but he is a crier most of the day so they stay away.  Preston is the best at just setting and holding or talking to him so he isn't alone.  Best Brother ever.  He will be 10 weeks in a couple days, and I can't believe how fast time has gone by.  It seems like he's always been in our family.  We love him so much.

Brecken was blessed while we were up north for the 4th of July.  All our family was either living up there or going to visit so we decided to do it while we were on vacation. We blessed him in Dad and Mom Monson's ward.  Brecken did a great job.  Only spit up on his outfit once, and it was just a little bit.  He also slept through it, and did great in church.  Dean gave an great blessing.  I didn't get a picture of everyone there so hopefully I remember everyone.  Grandpa Monson, Grandpa Eves, Uncle Joe, Uncle Tyler, Uncle Eric, Uncle Quin, my Uncle Lex, my Uncle Frank, my cousin Shawn, Cousin Scott, and Cousin Ross.  We had a little lunch after church, @ the Monson's and it was so nice of them to let us have all this at there house.  We love are family and are so glad we have such Great ones.

us on our way home.  We woke up @ 5.  Well Brecken woke us up @ 5 so we hit the road.  We stopped at Fillmore ate breakfast, and played on the playground while I feed Brecken.  Good times.

Bear Lake 2013

We decided to cut our trip into two parts.  We wanted to see everyone since this would probably be our only time up north this summer.  So after the parade on the 4th we headed up for more parade fun.  We wanted to see my brother and his family who live in Idaho.  We had fun even though it was a short visit.  We got in a couple rounds of golf, some fun up the canyon in the creek, riding 4 wheelers, and smore's.  We had a great time, and wish we could have stayed longer, but had to get down off the mountain to bless Brecken on Sunday.
