We lost of loving Father, Grandpa, and friend this month. It was bittersweet because he had been suffering, but so sad to know our family wont have him with us anymore. He was a great man and we will miss him. Dean went up the day after he died to help mom and help with the funeral and all the stuff that goes with it. His work was amazing and had funeral leave so he took 5 days off to spend time with mom and be at the funeral. We left Thursday morning to head up and make it in time to help set up the funeral home with some of dad's memorabilia. The cousins were all there and the kids enjoyed being with them. Dean stood in line with his mom and greeted everyone so I took Landon and Breck and made sure they didn't run ramped in the mortuary. We were there by 5:00, and it went until *8:00, but I knew they wouldn't get home until around 9:00. I took Brecken and Landon home around 7:30, so they could get something to eat and get to bed at a decent time for the funeral the next day. We were up and at the Church by 9:00 the next morning. Viewing went from 9:45-10:45, and then the funeral was at 11:00. All the kids spoke and did an amazing job, then all the family got up and sang I am a Child of God. After the funeral we headed to SLC cemetery to bury dad. Dean dedicated the grave, and the kids all put flowers on the coffin. Tears were definitely shed this day. We went back to the church around 2:30, ate and I finally took Landon home around 4:00. It was a long day. We then headed out with some of the family and mom to Sizzler since that was one of dad's favorites to take us too. We were so blessed with such an amazing example of a father and Grandfather, and we are all blessed for the better having known him. So grateful for the our savior who made it possible to be with family again forever.
