Presidents weekend we had the Monson family down for soccer tournaments, Shaylee had State basketball playoffs, and the boys basketball team also state basketball playoffs. We went to Hyrum's soccer game Friday afternoon, and then headed up to Cedar to see if our girls team could win against them to go to state. Well on our way up we noticed 2 wrecks that had the freeway backed up. We hoped and thought it would all be cleared out by the time the game got over. Our girls won and everyone was so excited. It had been a few years since we have made it to state. We started to head out fast because they boys team was playing to a spot to go to state in Hurricane as well and it started at 7:30 in Hurricane. We looked up online and realized their were know 6 accidents alone on I 15, and 3 on backroads trying to bypass I 15..it was a mess. 3 hour drive that should only be 40. We decided to take the back way to enterprise. It told us it was only 2 hours so we did that. Well it ended up being a little longer with a darn construction light was had to wait through and more traffic as well, but we made it. The boys game got pushed back till 8;15 because there was a wreck on the freeway from st george to hurricane and Pineview was running late as well as the refs. we pulled in about 8:30 and got the kids all their. The boys ended up winning as well so both teams were headed to the state playoff at Dixie State University. Saturday we ended up down in st. george to watch Hyrum's soccer game again as well as one of Allies as well. Monday we made our way down to Dixie state in the morning to watch our girls play then we were coming back that night to watch our boys play as well. Girls team stayed in it the first half. We were playing desert hills. They were ranked 2 in the state. The second half was a little rougher and we ended up losing. They played their hardest and had fun. We went home for a bit and then came back down to watch the boys team play snow canyon. We lost to them pretty bad as well. It was fun for our town to hae both teams make it to state though.
Landon came in Sunday morning complaining he couldn't find his sunglasses. He wanted to wear his hat and sunglasses to church to be cool. Poor guy was super upset when I told him we dont wear hats to church. It did make me laugh though.
