Hurricane Hustle Club Ball.

Last of the Basketball games in January.  Club season is extra short going 6 weeks.  We only had one game today and we won.  Landon had some great shots and my sorry excuse for taking pictures is getting screenshots of the videos I got.

Baptisms With Brecken and Friends

Breckens friends did baptisms almost every Friday in January.  It started out with Owen asking everyone to go to the Red Cliffs temple, then Knox took a Friday and went up to the Cedar City temple.  Then Brecken wanted to go again so we invited eeryone to the St. George temple.  These boys are great.  The all come from great families and we are lucky to know them.  After the temple the boys chose Panda Express for their dinner.

Shaylee's Mission Jan 20th-26th

CHAPTER 29: Gateway YSA/ Downtown Edmonton

WEATHER: -39 °F (new PR)
( for those of you who read my email last week we had a 90 degrees drop)

ZONE CONFERENCE
We had zone conference today on Tuesday. It was good. We had lots of trainings on the vision to baptize. Our mission is trying to double its goal of baptisims per missionary per year. It was a good way for us to put into perspective what we were trying to accomplish and how we were going to do it.

HIGHLIGHTS:
♡ Taylor gonna be baptized "trust"
♡ Had 5 friends at church  (listen its been a slow winter so that was fire haha)
♡ Threw boiling water outside and watched it freeze
♡ Made a vision bored
♡ Me and Sis. Ashby got frost bite on our eyelids
♡ Happy Birthday Addison
♡ Bruce the Moose
♡ Went thrifting on P-day
♡ I only lost control of the car twice this week (life motto: Let it slide- dont fight the ice just go with it)

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
2 Nephi 25:23
"For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do."
This scripture is commonly misinterpreted. Its important to note when the Book of Mormon was translated in the 1800s the phrase, all you can do, meant in spite of all you can do. We are saved by grace despite all we can do. We will never be able to do enough nor have the capacity to ever achieve "all we can do". We need christs grace. I know that salvation is only possible through the blood and merits of Jesus Christ. (Mosiah 3:17 "And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.") I know christs grace covers each of us fully and obedience to the commandments is our way of showing love and appreciation for the gift we call his amazing grace.

Love and miss you all! Thanks for all the emails!

Addison's 19th Birthday

Addison's birthday landed on a Sunday so we were lucky enough to celebrate her 2 days in a row.  We had Landons basketball Saturday and then we met up with Addison and Emily that night at Texas Roadhouse.  Addison had to have Fried pickles and so that was were we went.  Addison is a fan favorite with her little brothers.  They love when she comes over and hangs out with them.  Addison didn't want anyone at dinner to sing to her so we had to save that for her real birthday the next day.  Sunday afternoon Addison came over to open up some of her gifts.  It was mostly things she needed for her apt. lol.  She is also into highland cows right now so we grabbed a few things of them.  Addison doesn't really love cake so she asked for brownies and icecream.  We invited Grandpa and Grandma Eves and aunt Steph over to celebrate with us.  Addison loves hard and is always willing to help.  She loves her some potatoes in any form.  She has also taken a love to spinach, lemons, asparagus, and mushrooms.  She has stepped back from college and is trying to find her passion.  She just got a full time job and is excited to have more income coming in. lol.  We love her and are excited to see what this next year holds for her.
