4th of July Week/ Bear Lake

We started our 4th week off early.  We left Tuesday morning to head up to Bear Lake if we could make it the full 7 hours, driving by myself with the kids. I woke up to a very flat tire.  Come to find out I had 3 other very bad tires as well.  Two of them needed to be replaced before I could leave that day.  It was a good thing one was flat so I could drive safer by myself.  We left around 11 after the van got fixed.  We waited tell Beaver to eat and get Brecken ready for his nap.  He finally went to sleep around Fillmore slept really well.  We ran into a wreck in SLC, but it only delayed us about 20-30 minutes.  We then stopped in Logan to get out and stretch, and get some dinner.  Dad Eves met us there because his transmission blew and needed a ride back up the canyon while his car was fixed.  Brecken at this point did not want to get back in his car seat, and pretty much throw a fit and cried the rest of the way up.  We arrived early evening, and the kids were so excited to see their cousins.  While we were there Grandma found these little baby boots that were on a display case…so we tried them on Brecken.  Sorry the pictures are horrible, but with this pj's on and his boots with them he looks like he's in some long johns. It was funny to see him walk around in them.  We got right to work helping Grandpa build 2 new rooms upstairs in the cabin.  By the night we had one room nearly finished, and the there room was about 1/2 way.  The boys slept in one new room and the girls, Breck, and I took the other room. Apparently around 1 in the morning my nephew Jaden hears wings flapping and squeaking so he opens his eyes to a bat above his head.  He wakes up the other 2 boys, and they are scared to death.  Jaden jumps out of bed and gets his dad in the other room.  Well, Matt was so tierd he told them to just go back to bed, and not worry about it.  My SIL Marci, is telling him to get up and he is out of it.  Finally Preston pokes his head in the room, and says "Uncle Matt there's a bat in our room, and we can't sleep with it in there.  So, Matt gets out of bed tells them to grab a broom and dustpan, Matt swipes at it once it hits the wall, and down it goes.  It really was quite the funny story, especially since the next night I couldn't sleep because that is all I kept hearing, is bats hanging from my outside windows and their squeaks, me and Shaylee got ourselves worked up a little about them getting into our room.  The next morning I go to follow everyone out the door, and i walk past the garbage the bats been in the last 2 days, and what starts crawling out….THE  BAT.  It had decided to come back alive or wake up from its knock out, but who knows.  It was right by me.  So I scream, and everyone laughs thinking I'm screaming seeing the dead bat in the garbage, then I yell it's alive and then they scream.  My dad ended up squishing it with the broom handle and it for sure died that time.  We always have a bat story, every year.  We helped on the house, building the two rooms Wednesday then headed down the mountain again Thursday around 1, to get to the Centerville children's parade, and to meet Dean there.  He got a ride up with Marie.  The children's parade started at 6:30, and over by 6:40 walking time.  We got our pop cycles and ended up at a Pizza place in Centerville.  We were the only ones there all 23 of us, so it was nice to be able to sit and enjoy one an other's company.  We headed home to wait tell it got closer to the fireworks starting.  We love the fireworks in Centerville for 2 reasons.  They are really nice, and long, and the second, they do them the night before the 4th so we get to see them 2 nights in a row if we head somewhere else.  Brecken loved the fireworks and stayed awake for most of them.  I think he feel asleep right at the end.  Then next day was the Centerville parade the kids love this parade because of the cool floats, and tons of cool things being thrown and handed out.  The cousins sure have a good time together.  It was muggy and hot, and we needed to get up to Bear Lake for the Williamson reunion, and make it in time for the Paris parade.  We made it with a few minutes to spare, and the kids had a blast.  The parade is so small they go down one side of the street then do a u turn and go down the other side of the street.  So the kids got plenty of candy.  We then headed home had lunch, then off to my bothers Golf course to play in the Annual Willaimson tournament.  I tried my hand at it a few times, but between Addy and Shaylee driving the carts, and little Brecken I stuck close to them, and let Dean, Preston, and Steph handle our team.  We had a lot of fun, and even the girls got to hit a few balls.  We ended the night with a fire and roasting marshmallows.  The kids were so excited to sleep in the new tent we bought with dad, while Breck and I shared a room with aunt Steph inside.  We woke up Saturday morning ready to do our service project.  We painted the outside of the old cabin.  It was a messy job, but someone had to do it.  We had fun all working together, and we accomplished a lot with all the help we had.  It was a lot of fun to talk to come cousins, and aunt's and uncle's I haven't seen in awhile.  We had about half of the family there for the picture.  We are missing Grandpa and Grandma Williamson because they just got out of the hospital, and a couple aunts, and uncles and there families, plus plenty of cousins.  But it was still great to see those who could make it.  We ended the day going to get some Bear Lake Shakes, and s'mores.  We left Sunday morning and headed for home.

Yep!!!

Why yes, yes that is a pretzel stick hanging out of her mouth.  Don't we all golf like that?  haha

He's a keeper, and my painting buddy.

Aunt Stephanie wasn't watching Breck to close and he shoved in the whole strawberry instead of just taking a bite.  As you can tell it was a little juicy, messy, and BIG. He sure does love his fruit.

Oh, also we can't forget the raspberry filled donuts as well.  He kept sneaking them from Grandpa when he thought he wasn't looking.
