Hawaii Day 4!!
On Saturday morning everyone had arrived in Hawaii. Quin took us on a hike that was in some famous music videos and had some sweet waterfalls at the end. Dean and I had done this hike the last time we came to Hawaii. We loved it, so we were excited to show our kids and do it with them. Boy, oh boy it was one of the hardest things we have done with Brecken and Landon in tow. It had been raining and they had a hurricane a few weeks back, and the group was just one big mud pit. You slipped every other step, you fell, you got stuck into mud up to your knees I didn't have shoes so I had to walk the 4 hour hike bear foot. We started out together, but by half way in Dean and I and the two smaller boys were toward the end of the pack. I think only 5 other people were behind us. It was brutal. I was no help with the boys because of my lack of footwear. We arrived at the waterfall and the kids had all been jumping off for awhile they said. I set Landon down and gave him a snack and he of course cried. Brecken and Dean went and jumped off the waterfall with the rest of the kids. After about 10 minutes of hearing Landon scream I told Dean we better start heading back before the others so we don't get to far behind. Maybe it was knowing what we had gone threw that made it easier to get back or just the fact that we just stopped caring if we got muddy, but the boys did great on the way back and we were toward the front getting out. We had a couple big water bottles to try and clean us off a little as well as a lifesaver garbage bag we threw all our shoes into and muddy clothes. It definitely was a hike we wont forget, but not for good things. Maybe we can start to laugh about it now....(nope) still to soon. When we left the hike we grabbed some food and headed home to eat, and clean up a little. We squirted off the shoes and clothes, and started a load of laundry and headed down to the beach. It was just our family and we had the boogie boards to ourselves. We had so much fun. I wished we lived by a beach with such great warm water all the time. Again nobody wanted to get out and get dinner. After the beach we showered and dean took the kids to get slush's while I tried to get Landon down and clean up a little. Such a fun and exhausting day.
