Hawaii Bound!! Day !.

The Monson Family had been planning a Hawaii trip for 2 years now.  We finally got flights scheduled over our Fall Break of 2018.  Do to some health issues Dean's Parents weren't able to come with us.  They had planned and done so much for this trip we were really sad they couldn't come with us.  We were the first ones off to Hawaii.  We left Tuesday October 9th for Vegas so we could get to the airport by 3:30.  The airport/parking/security...were all sure fun for a family of 7 all Traveling on an airplane for the first time.  We looked like a 3 ring circus running all throughout the airport.  We struggled in the bag/ security check.  Preston had so many metals on him he couldn't get through.  Shaylee, Addison, and Dean all packed liquid over 3 oz even though I had told them multiple times that any lotions, liquids and things needed to be put in the check in bag.  We made it just in time to our flight.  They were calling families at that time so we walked right on.  We got situated and hoped for the best with Brecken and Landon. The older kids were pretty excited to be flying for the first time, and they did great. We only had one layover on the way to Hawaii so the Vegas to LA airport would be a short trip.  I got So sick on this flight and throw up in my mouth a couple times.  So gross.  I got dizzy, light headed, nauseous...it was bad.   So Dean had to help with both Brecken and Landon while I just tried to make it to the next flight.  Once we got off we realized are flight was late getting to the LAX airport so we had to run with all of us and our luggage to our next terminal.  This one was a close one.  We made it just in time and were the last ones to board.  Dean asked for a throw up bag for me and we just hoped for the best.  I did a little better on this flight and was able to help with Landon and Breck.  They were a little restless, but didn't do as bad as I thought they would.  They did however only fall asleep like the last 20 minutes of our flight.  We arrived in Hawaii by 11:30 a.m.  We grabbed a lunch and headed to find our hotel.  We got a room in down town Waikiki because we were the first ones there and we wanted to go on a hike and snorkeling on this side of the island the next day.  We found our hotel one block from the beach.  We got our bags out and changed into hiking clothes and headed straight to Diamond Head.  Its a hike from on old Volcano.  It was beautiful and was a great first thing to do so we could see the sites of the whole island.  The hike got a little steep at some points but the kids did great even Brecken who walked the whole thing.  We carried Landon.  After the hike we headed down to the Waikiki beach and shops.  The beaches were beautiful but it was so crowded.  We walked most of the blocks with the shopping centers and then headed back to eat dinner and get some rest for a full next day.
