Back in December I found a killer deal on flights to Maui. Since dean and I had credit already from missing our first Maui trip back in March from Covid, I jumped on it and bought the whole family Hawaii tickets from a Christmas presents. Everyone was so excited. As it's getting closer we are getting so much info about all we need to do to be able to even get on a plane to go to Maui. Maui's guidelines were download an app and have our Covid test put in before we get to the airport and the tests couldn't be done to soon. We had a 72 hour time slot where we had to get our Covid test taken and hopefully get the results back in time to go to Maui. You had to set up time slots to go and with a family of 7 that became a little bit tricky to get us all in. We wanted to do a rapid test in vegas but they didn't have enough time slots so we did one in Hurricane the Monday before we were supposed to leave. We would need our results by Thursday to make it on our trip and before 3:00 on Thursday to be within the 72 hour timeline. By wednesday we hadn't received our results yet, but we still cleaned and packed like we were going to Hawaii. We had to be up by 4:00 am to make it to the airport in Vegas for our flight at 6:00 am Vegas time. at 4:00 we still hadn't received our results. Some places have testing at the airport so we thought we would do the rapid test there, but the test was 250$ per person and that adds up with a family of 7. That was more then we were spending in flights. So everyone was up on Thursday morning and we had to make the call to back out of our flights. We were so bummed to say the least. Landon was crying, and the older kids didn't want to go to school. So we loaded up and headed down to a resort in Vegas for the weekend.
