The Mission

Preston Monson

Hey everyone it's been a little bit. I'm alive and well and hope everyone's doing alright! I'm still here in Ypacarai it's been awesome honestly a great experience! We had lots of miracles and I'm grateful for all of these experiences I've had. We have a few people on date for baptism. Rosa and Adsalon this Sunday and then the next Sunday Orlando, and his kids Yosue, and Irlanda. Orlando is awesome. He almost died about a year ago because a mom on a motorcycle with her two kids wasn't paying attention, and he decided to sacrifice himself and took him and his bike down. He's got a few things that will never work the same but he said that when he was there dying on the road that God told him he was going to preserve his life, so that he could help his kids on the path towards him. His wife had already left him alone with his two kids before this incident. Really humbling experiences. I cringed hearing this story thinking about the woman he loved and had a family with just leaving him. And then all the physical problems and pain he had due to being a hero and saving two lives. I'm happy we get to help him and his two kids be baptized and gain the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is really the only thing that can bring us a true and eternal peace and comfort in this life. I know the Book of Mormon is true, when things are hard, this book brings me peace. I know all of my prayers are heard and he answers these prayers in his perfect time. Thought of the week in 3 Nephi 11 the first thing Christ does is proclaim who he is and then invite the people to touch the scars he bares and realize what he'd done. The sacrament came into my mind. As we can't physically touch him but we receive that opportunity to remember his atoning sacrifice and try our hardest to be better and repent. The sacrament has become something necessary for me. I love it. Anyways, love you all, thanks for all the prayers that are offered on my behalf and for all of the other missionaries out there. Till the next one! - Everyone's favorite, Elder Monson... ps I've been balling out in soccer, thinking about starting to record my games on pdays and send them to some teams to recruit me.
