The Monday before the stock show there was going to be a practice at theh Iversons. Addison was running behind so I dropped Brecken off to grab his lamb and told him to start walking it over to the Iversons. I needed to get Landon to baseball practice but wanted to make sure Brecken got mostly there before I left him. Since his sheep didn't have any other sheep with her she was being a bit stubborn. while Brecken was pulling on her a car came by and scared the sheep. She jumped and pulled landing on Breckens foot and it made him fall hard on his arm. I could tell by the scream that he had broke it. His face was white as a ghost he was having a hard time breathing. The sheep had ran away and ran back to his pen so we at least new she was safe. Addison pulled up around then and said she would take Brekcnes and hers over to the Iversons. I told Brecken to go with her to at least learn what was to be done at the stock show while I ran Landon over to baseball practice. By the time I dropped him off and got back from Dixie Springs Addison had texted and said she was laying on the ground sicker then a dog and couldn't walk the sheep back to the pen. I ran and got them and ended up having the 2 sheep pretty much pull me back to their pens. Brecken was still in some good pain but seemed to be doing a lot better. When we got home we looked at his arm and he told me it hurt around his elbow. it was swollen so we put some ice on it and waited for Dean. The next day we couldn't get into Dr Holms but he sent in for an x ray for that wednesday. We got the x ray Wednesday and he had hurt it Monday. Dr. Holmes called Wednesday night and said he had a fracture by the elbow. He couldn't get in to see us until Friday. So we waited tell friday adn he splinted it up and got it all set. He was worried about his growth plate so we were waiting on a pediatric dr to look at his x ray. It ended up being okay and he had to be in his splint for the next 8 weeks. So no stockshow showing of his lamb the next weekend. To say he was bummed would be an understatement. Poor guy had worked hard with his lamb so we were wondering what we could do. They had us write a letter to the stock show panel and they told us it would be okay to have him in the arena while someone else showed his sheep. He wouldn't be any help getting it ready for the show or cleaning and washing it each day so I new that would land on me and Addison.
