Soccer Season

Soccer season has come and gone.  Last weekend was our last games, both Preston's, and the girls.  Preston had a great year.  He learned a new position, they moved him back to defender, because we learned early on that we needed a strong defensive team this year.  He is amazing, and did awesome this year.  I had to get used to a new type of game,  since he was 3 he has been a forward, the one who scores the goals, but this year we learned the defensive side, and I always told him….all the goals you stop is like scoring the goal if you were a forward.  I think he enjoys it as well.  We've been with this team for a solid year now and I think it is going to be a fun year this next year.  We have our summer games, coming up so that should be fun for the boys.

The girls had a great year, and I loved watching them.  This year, I think all but two games overlapped between Preston's and the girls, so Dean and I had to divide and conquer.  We enjoyed watching the girls play, they are really picking up on the game, and their positions.  Shaylee and Addy both had a great year, and both scored some goals.  In their last game they both scored and won the game 3-0.  They called their dad and said we won, we won, and the Monson girls were they only ones that scored for our team.  I thought it was so cute,  (The Monson girls) ;)  It was fun for them, and I'm glad they got to share this experience.  Since next year, Shaylee moves up to 3-4 grade girls, and Addy gets to still be in 1-2 grade girls.  So next year we get to do 3 different games instead of 2.  I've always just played Addison up on Shaylee's team the last 3 years, but this next year I decided she gets to stay and be the one of the older girls on her team, she has always been 2-3 years younger then some of these girls she was playing against.  It's not that she isn't good enough.  That little girl knows how to hold her own.   I think she will love being one of the older girls, and she'll do awesome.
