Brecken's Baptism Day

Brecken turned 8 in May, but we had to wait tell June to baptize him because Preston had state tennis matches on the stake baptism day.  June 19th came soon enough though and Brecken was able to have his dad conduct the baptism and have him baptize him.  It was a really special day and we were so excited Breck decided to be baptized.  Since Addison got baptized when he was 3 he had been very adamant that he did not want to get baptized.  We talked about how Jesus was baptized and asked us to follow his example, we talked about receiving the gift of the holy ghost after baptism, we had grandparents talk to him, and we took him to friends baptisms to get him excited and to see there was nothing to worry about.  Up until like a month before he said he didn't want to be baptized, but then he had an interview with the bishop and he told the bishop he would get baptized, so we set the date and didn't look back.  We were missing a few families that couldn't make it, but loved all that could make it and made Breckens day that much more special.  Brecken said the water was warm, and he was actually the first one in the stake baptisms to get baptised.  He was so excited to get back to the room after he was baptised he left off his shoes and socks, and had his tie in his hands.  I went back and helped get him the rest of the way ready and then we headed back in to start the conformation.  My dad, uncle Eric, Uncle Quin, and Dean were able to be in the circle and confirm him a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We love him so much.  He is such a loving boy and always willing to give a hug and a smile whenever needed.  We had donuts, and parfaits afterwards at our house with everyone  that came.  Brecken had his good friends Leslie and Owen come, Uncle Quin, Aunt Dani, Kai, Mya, and baby Noa.  We had Uncle Eric, Aunt Marie, Allie, Sadie, and Katie, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Devin, Tynlee, and Laiklyn. Aunt Stephanie, Jaden, Tanner, Kendyll, Grandma Monson, Grandpa Eves, and Grandma Eves.  We had a wonderful and special day.  We love you Brecken.
