Hello everyone, welcome back! I would like to apologize for last week. Transfers were going on and things were a bit hectic. Anyways! I'm staying here, and so is my trainer. So that's awesome, it's been good! I don't really remember what happened besides that but just know I'm doing okay and alive. Let's get into this week...
Tuesday: We did some good work. Ate some good food. There's one of our friends who has cancer, and we had the oppurtunity to give her a blessing, as well as teach her a lesson. It was a very spiritual and amazing experience... I would also like to put these rumors going around to rest. Elder Weston Larsen has made Korihor-like claims, and has gone round about seeking to lead you all away from me as the best workout leader. This is unacceptable. He has made claims such as "Well maybe if you lived in Paraguay he would be a good trainer", "Well I've worked out with him in the past and it was just okay". This is absolute blasphemy. Elder Treyden Hall has kept firm with me. And I can confidently say he is looking to make big moves this year in bulking. He can vouch for me. Elder Weston Larsen, you disgust me. I invite you to repent and disavow all the words you dared utter in your previous email. If not, my heart is deeply sorrowed and you are indeed a lost cause.
Wednesday: Today was also good, we contacted a bunch of people and found a woman we think is very interested so hopefully there will be lots of progress with her.
Thursday: Today started out good. And then after lunch, I felt really sick. I had been sick for a couple days in the past week too. And honestly the last few weeks all together, but I was still able to at least work. So on Thursday we set me up for some tests on Friday so they could see what was going on.
Friday: I got my blood drawn which isn't necessarily a favorite of mine but when you're as tough as me it's just something you become accommodated too. I did good, didn't even flinch, and even smiled when I saw the needle (that's the rumor anyways). Then we went back later and got the results, we looked at them before going into the doctor, and I mean I'm no doctor, but it has the information of where I should be, and where my body is. And there was some lopsided numbers. So, we go into the doctor and he looks at the results. I understood nothing but my comp translated. Basically, the doctor said that there was definitely something wrong, but he doesn't know what it is. He then proceeded to prescribe 5 different medications for me to get telling me one of them had to work.. thanks doc!
Saturday: Felt the same, laid in bed all day again. These days laying in bed are very difficult mentally. But, tons of opportunities for studies. Our District Leader and his comp came over. The district Leader stayed with me, while his comp went with mine and did some work in our area. Then our District Leader said we needed to go to his apartment and he would get an uber for us. (It's called something else but I say uber so you can understand). Apparently his air conditioner was broken so there were guys fixing it. It hasn't been the easiest week. But I realized a huge jump in my understanding of Spanish. I was able to understand most of the conversation with the uber and air conditioning guys. And I was super happy, because it had been rough just laying in bed.
Sunday: We went to church. I was still sick, and was in the lineup of talks. As most of you probably know. I'm really good at talking. In fact, more often than not, I have people asking me to stop talking. So usually I have no problem getting up there and giving a talk. Today I was a little nervous, because it was in Spanish. And because I can't stand for more than a few minutes without needing to sit down. However, boy did I deliver. Yes, i was not the best physically at the popet, I would compare my current state to that of Elder Larsen. I was only able to stand up there for 7 to 8 minutes. But, with the perfect mix of humor, experience, doctorine, and the spirit, I had done it yet again. I could tell my comp didn't want to go up and have to follow me up, but he did pretty good as well. I swear I heard people after the meeting talking about Michael Jordan's flu game, and his amazing performance. There were some that started comparing my talk in sacrament meeting to his performance against my beloved Utah Jazz. Being a humble guy I pretended to not notice what they were saying but just smiled. After that we returned to the apartment and I got back in bed to rest. I'm sorry for not having the most eventful email. But next week I'm hoping I'm back to 100% and we can get back into it. Thank you everyone! Until next week,
Elder Monson
Also one more thing, please everyone listen to The conversion story of Bill Carpenter. It's amazing and really spiritual. I hope you take some time and listen to it. Love you all!
