Jan 30th Preston Mission

Preston didn't get off a email this week, but he let us know he is doing well.  They had a baptism.  That cute little girl in the middle is actually 38 years old.  They were supposed to also baptise her cousin as well but she didn't make it to church so they had to wait on her.  (The lady who didn't show up was supposed to be Preston's baptism, so he was a little bummed, but they were both excited for the one that did come.) Preston's area has a lot of young people so they've had a lot of help with young single adults getting home of their missions and wanting to help the missionaries.  They made brownies for one of their baptisms, and they didn't have any butter or flour, and I  don't remember what else.  They didn't set up well and not even sure how they tasted lol, but preston said the kids liked them and ate them. That's all I  can remember about our convo for that week.  I'm going to have to start writing down if he doesn't start emailing more info. 

 

Addison turns 16!!

Addison turned 16 on the 25th.  We were all so excited for her.  She is such a happy kid.  She wanted to get her license first thing in the morning.  So we woke up and did gifts and our usual breakfast donuts. Afterwards we got everyone ready to school and aunt Steph came and took the boys to school while I  went with Addison to get her license around 8:30.   We got there and we were called right up to the desk.  We were in and out of there in 10 minutes or less with a brand new driver.  She drove us home from the DMV and then took Preston's car to the school for the day.  At lunch she invited a bunch of people over to have lunch for her birthday. We ordered pizza, and had drinks, desert, and some veggies lol.  After school she hung out with her best friend Emily for a while then we grabbed her favorite sushi for dinner.  She then had friends come over and they all went hot tubbing for the night.  We always do a little something extra special on our kids 16th birthday, Addison says she wants to wait tell its warmer to plan something.  I don't blame her.  She is the best.  Always so nice and helpful.  Usually smiling.  She love pink right now, snowboarding, tennis, and just signed up for some dance classes.  She cant keep her room clean for the life of her and she is so unorganized, but still manages mostly A's and is a great student and daughter. She has been taking extra classes mostly college ones to get a head of things and she is doing awesome with that.   We sure do love this girl and are excited to see how she grows this next year.

2 weeks in a row of emails that's what's up! I'm back with another week! Really nothing too great happened. I'm going to have to fast forward all the way to Friday of this last week! On Friday we met a guy from Iowa. I don't know much about Iowa but the last people I met from there were kind of crazy! This guy as well! But it was awesome. He invited us to go swimming with him and we told him about some mission rules. He gave us the advice to petition against the rules because we are Americans and we are free! He thought we were crazy to be here for 2 years and just talk of Christ. It was good to speak English and a really funny conversation. Saturday was good and then Saturday night and Sunday were two of my hardest days so far. And of course I had a talk on Sunday. Thankfully Heavenly Father helped out and I somehow didn't end up talking. But yeah I have been doing pretty alright and hit my 6 month mark just the other day! I dont have access to any of the photos right now, and will try to be more interesting the next week
