Shaylees Farewell

Shaylee's Farewell was June 29th.  Brecken was asked to speak with her as the youth speaker.  He was pretty upset as he just spoke a couple months before this and it was the same topic on missionary work, but he did a great job and i'm super proud of him for speaking in front of people.  Shaylee was of course as cool and collected as could be.  She doesn't mind speaking in public and she does a great job.  Hearing both kids speak made Dean and I  tear up hearing their testimonies and love for our savior.  I love hearing them share their thought and faith with others.  Shaylee let everyone know that she was not to excited for the cold canada weather because she hates the cold and has raynaud's.  She will be a great missionary and we are all so excited for her.  After church we came back to the house and had some lunch for everyone that came.  It was good to see so many people who love our little family and support us.  We had fun visiting and talking.  Later that evening the stake president and bishop came over so that they could set apart Shaylee as a missionary so she could start her MtC training the next day on the 30th.  The spirit was strong as she was given the blessing and set apart to be a spokesperson for our savior and his church.  Shaylee will be at home MTC for a little over a week, and then on july 9th we will take her up to the MTC in provo and drop her off.

Copper Rock and family golf

While I  was doing Bees Preston had got tee times for some of the family out at copper rock for the morning.  Grandma left her clubs up north so she didn't make it but they had Dean, Shaylee, and Aunt Steph join them.  It was a beautiful morning and they all had a blast playing the course.  The next day we decided to do another round of golf before Shaylee left so we packed the family all together to go golf.  Addison and I  were the drivers, but Addison also had to take a few shots for her team if they didn't get any good ones in the scramble. We also had Chance join us as well he was on Shaylee, and Breckens team.  Then it was Landon, Preston, and Dean on the other team. The younger boys LOVE when they get to play with the big kids.  We had a fun afternoon.  It was hot, but not as hot as it could have been for the middle of the day in June.

Honey

Grandpa and Grandma left for their second home in Bear Lake around Memorial day.  He put me in charge of the Bees for the summer.  He gave away my bee suit to my brother matt so he bought me this wonderful bubble gum pink one to wear instead.  When I  went to check on them in June I  noticed it was so full of bees everywhere and I  thought I  saw white.  Which grandpa thought might be moths.  Justin said he thought it looked like capped honey. Grandpa had me take the hive apart to look in it but that was not a one man job and i didn't have smoke,I but i did open it and got stung twice and was able to see they were building out honey on the top of the wood hive so i called grandpa and he told me to put it back together and he would have to help me when he came down.  I  had to wait two weeks for grandpa to come home and help me.  (He came down for Shaylee's farewell). Well, why were were looking for the white stuff  we found honey everywhere and it was capped honey and there was nowhere for the Bees to go.  So we drained our flow hive and got about 26 jars of honey from that.  We also have a full white box of honey and so many bees.  It took us most the morning to get it taken care of but we are all so excited for all the honey and how good our bees are doing.  Dad said we might have to add another white box for the the bees to have more room so they don't swarm.  I  think we should.
