Hawaii Temple and Visitors Center
We woke up Thursday morning knowing we would be getting on a plane that evening. It was definitely bitter sweet. I think we were just getting used to island life and time. We loved having dad to ourselves 24/7, and spending time exploring this beautiful earth our Father in Heaven created for us. Hawaii was definitely a big memory making trip for our family. We got to work packing up everyone, and picking up the house we were staying at. We were out the door by 11:00. We headed to the temple so we could have the whole family see it up close. We also went into the visitor center to watch some movies about how the island came to get a temple. It was really fun and educating. We then headed off to the other side of the island find some lunch and wander around as we waited to turn our rental car in at 3:00. I knew this would be a tough flight. 1. We were doing a red eye. 2. We had 3 layovers. 3. We had delayed and late fights on the first 2 flights, and 4. Landon (Need I say more). We had a lot of issues getting our tickets at the Hawaii airport and found out our flight had been changed to fly into San Fransisco instead of LA which moved times around a little...okay a lot. We boarded our plane by 5:30 and we were off by 6:00. This flight was alright because it was short. We landed in Maui about a half hour later, and found out our connecting flight was going to be an hour late. So we had a 3 hour lay over in Maui. We got on that plane around 9:15, and took off for San Fransisco. Landon struggled off and on, on this flight. He couldn't get comfortable and kept waking up crying while we tried to console him. We were all dead tired by the time we arrived in San Fransisco. We had an hour wait there for our next flight. While we got comfortable on the plane it got stuck on the runway for another hour and a half with navigation problems. We sat on the plane longer then our whole flight was supposed to be. Luckily Landon slept good for the most part on this flight so we were all able to rest a little bit. We arrived in Las Vegas at 10:00 the next morning. We were all exhausted and tired, and still had a 2 hour drive home. The kids all slept the whole way home except Landon. Go figure. We had a great time and were sad it was over, but so glad we got to have that experience with the Monson family.
