SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
As easter is approaching i've been centering my studies on jesus christs ministry and resurrection. I was reading in John 11 this week. This chapter is where Jesus Christ raises Lazarus from the dead. In verse 21 we read "Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." I cant even begin to process the thoughts of Martha. Her brother was dead. Jesus Christ performed all of these miracles for others. He healed the blind, forgave the adulterous women, healed someone with leprosy and than when it came to Martha there had been nothing, her brother died. She watched Jesus Christ perform all of these things for others and yet for her there had seemed to be nothing. If i were Martha I would have instantly felt forgotten, unheard, unloved, unseen, unworthy of the miracle and his love. How many of us have felt like Matha before? Watching those around us receive miracles and answers to prayers and you yourself continually waiting patiently tell you receive an answer to your prayer or a miracle of your own. I know i have. Martha waited. She waited patiently. She endured. And yet Jesus never came. Even after the death, it took Jesus four days to get there! Four days! To often than not sometimes we think just because Jesus Christ did not arrive when we thought he needed to arrive that, that means he's not aware of us at all. We often think that silence means absence. But when we skip earlier to the chapter we read many verses that highlight the love, sincerity, and care he had for Martha and Lazarus.
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Jesus was aware. He cared. He loved. And most importantly he came. He came in his timing. He came offering love, peace, and hope. I know Jesus Christ will come. I know he will come in his timing and he will come to do the fathers will, not his, not ours, but gods will shall be done. Not always will he come and do the thing we have asked however, he will come, and he will do the thing he knows we need. God knows what each of us needs and God's plan is perfect.
I think we continue to grasp this concept a bit more in verse 25.
25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
The definition of the word resurrection means the act of rising again or being brought back to life. This promise is not just a promise for those that have passed away from a physical death. This promise are for those that have suffered a spiritual death, a intelectual death, a social death, etc. Jesus Christ is the resurrection. All things that pass away both temporal and spiritual can all be resurrected through him.
In Jesus' resurrection power, we find new life - freed from sin's grip, healed from life's trials, and given hope beyond struggles.
I know Jesus Christ will come. He will resurrect you. He will heal you. He will bring life back into that which was dead. Accept his love, accept his grace, and be changed through the amazing gift he offerers to all!
I love you all and hope you have an amazing week! Reach out!!!
