Jackson Hole WY/Grand Tetons National Park/Jenny Lake
We woke up bright and early to make lunches and get on the road to go up to Jackson hole to see the Grand Tetons and Hike Jenny lake. When we were making our lunches Landon kept mentioning that he didn't feel good. I told him he just needed to eat a breakfast. As we were getting ready to leave he was crying and laying in the bathroom. We finally got him out to the car and he couldn't get in because he felt like he was throwing up. We thought about leaving him home with Addison, but really didn't want him or addison to miss this... plus I thought if it was his sickness that it dies out and sometimes he goes back to normal sooner rather then later. Plus, I didn't feel a fever which helps him perk up faster when he doesn't have that. Well as soon as we got in the car the throwing up started. Luckley my mom and dads neighbor is a dr and had some nausea medicine in his house so he gave us a few for Landon. The first medicine he took we were hoping it got into his system where it is a dissolvable one. Because he threw up not even a minute after taking it. Then it was every 5/10 minutes after that. We were running out of bags, and napkins. We stopped in afton for him to get out and wash up and throw away bags and things. Then we stopped at the bottom of the snake river to grab more bags napkins and gatorade for him. By this time he had throwin up about 8/10 times. By the time we got up to Jackson he had stopped throwing up. We were stuck in a traffic mess because of an accident so he was able to fall asleep. When we finally got to Jenny Lake it was crowded and we were behind schedule, but Landon was perking up and seemed to be doing good. We finally found a parking spot and got out to head on our way. Grandpa and Grandma wanted to pay for us to take the boat across the lake, and the kids were pretty excited about that since that would shave off a few miles of them walking/hiking. We got on the boat and headed out across the lake. When we got there dad and mom told us to hike up to cascade falls and inspiration point. We got to a good turn off and decided to stop for lunch by a little waterfall on our hike up to inspiration point. All the little squirrels and chipmunks made sure to stay right by us and beg for food...or steal it. Grandpa and grandma stopped at inspiration point and told any of us that wanted to go ahead could and they would stay back and make their way back down with them to the falls. Brecken, Addison, Preston, Dean and I went in our family. As well as Stephanie, Lisa, Devin, and Tynlee. Preston got in the river at a clearing where a damn was and Addison joined him. They decided to do a cold plunge. They are crazy. Brecken went to his shoulders but couldn't go all the way under, but that water is freezing snow run off. There was still snow up on the peaks we were hiking...plus the weather had changed and some rain clouds had moved in. When it started to rain we decided to start running back. So we all did a trail run and had a great time running down the mountain to find the rest of our crew. When we got to the waterfall trail that is were we found everyone waiting. We got pictures by the waterfall and the rain started to let up. After hiking around a little more we headed back to the boat to get back before the last boat of the day. It was so pretty and even though we didn't see any moose or big wildlife it was amazing. It's been so fun to see so much of gods creations this summer going to a few national parks with the kids. We got back to our cars and decided on a place to eat dinner before we headed back to the cabin. We were all tired from our days event but it was such a fun day with family.
