Summer Vacation Part #2

Bear Lake ID/Jackson Hole WY

We got up to Bear Lake Sunday afternoon, and of course the kids had to get on the machines.  They loves to ride these around in Great Grandpas pasture, round, round, and round, for hours…if we let them.  We had a great time hanging out with family that evening, and headed to bed to get an early start tomorrow.

The Monday morning we head out with everyone in tow.  We stop and take a look at the snake river, but I didn't get any pictures because Breck was asleep in the car, we made it up to Jackson, and headed out to find shirts to take for our family picture, and do a little shopping. Grandpa paid for a geode rock to be cracked open, and the kids were all so fascinated with how it all worked the poor worker could barely fit in between them to do her job.  That store was a hit.   We love there little home made Ice cream shop they have up there so of course we had to stop and get some, and played in the park.  We went back to the hotel to get  ready for the Bar J.

Fitting that Jaden and Preston sat by him...

My family has been going to Jackson, and the Bar J, since I can remember.  I love the atmosphere, the singers, the food.  I love that my kids are growing up with the same memories.  Jackson hole is a fun little town.  Breck actually did really well, and loved listening to the music.  He just starred and listened.  Preston loved every minute of it, and couldn't stop laughing.  He's my entertainer (class clown).  We ended the night with one of my favorite songs, where they yodel, I made a bet with Preston that they would sing that song so I was really excited they fit it in that night.  We got back to the hotel, and hit the beds.  We were wore out.  The next morning it the kids were dying to get in the pool.  It's a good thing it was record breaking temperatures because it would have been to cold, but at 8:30 I was feeling the heat.  We swam for about an hour and a half, and headed to get ready to check out and go up the ski lifts on a ride.  The views were amazing, and the kids all loved it.  I couldn't ride with dean, because only two people to a lift, and Breck counted as the second person, but I had fun with my partners.  Addison on the way up, and Steph on the way down.  We then stopped in town square to get our pictures by the antlers with our big group, and then it was off to Montpellier to play in our annual Eves family golf tournament at Matt's course.

Summer Vacation Part 1.

Hiking/ Real S.L. Soccer Game
We had such a great time on our family vacation this year.  It was one for the books.  We were gone for 10 days, and had a jammed packed fun time.  We went up Friday June 26th, and stopped in provo to shop and eat.  Then we headed the rest of the way up to Grandpa and Grandma Monson's.  The next morning we headed out to do a hike up Big Cotton Wood canyon.  We ended up short on time, so we started "Lake Blanche Trail", knowing we wouldn't be finishing it.  It was about a 4-5 hour hike and we had 2 hours.  So we headed up and took our time enjoying the view.  It was so beautiful and such a great day.  The kids couldn't get over the river that ran by the trail for the first little bit.  They also couldn't believe how cold the water was, they loved it.  After that, we grabbed a quick lunch and made it back to the Grandparents so get Brecken's nap in so he would be good for the Soccer game that night.  After his nap, Grandma and Grandpa Monson took us and the Hansen cousins out to eat.  They always have a good time together.  We then headed down to the Real SL soccer game where we met up with our favorite Aunt Stephanie.   She was able to find us some tickets, last minute, and they didn't disappoint.  We were able to watch from the 3rd row.  We all had a blast, and loved every single minute of it.  We might have yelled a little bit. (wink, wink) We loved spending time with aunt Steph as well.  Sunday morning we woke up and headed out to Bear Lake to spend time with the Eves family.

Father's Day!!

Father's day was a good one this year.  We got to see all the grandpa's sometime that week to tell them Happy Father's day.  The kids shopped with me for Dean and they help wrap all the gifts and made them cards.  They were so excited to give him everything I had to tell them repeatedly not to say anything about his gifts.  Sunday morning we made our dad French toast with Turkey bacon, fruit, and orange juice.  Then we all got ready for church, and then had time to open the gifts.  Brecken has really got down the whole present thing, and had to open all of Deans.  If there was a treat in any of them…watch out, he was excited.  Later that day we went over and made dinner for Dean and Grandpa Eves, then we called and talked to Grandpa Monson.  After we came home I had my parents bring over Deans last gift.  He has wanted a weight lifting rake for awhile now, so I took some of my money I had been saving, and bought it for him.  I told him it was also his birthday present as well.  We sure our blessed to have such wonderful men in our lives, they are a great example to my children and I.  We sure do love them tons.
