Gingerbread House Contest

We had our first ever Gingerbread house Contest with the Eves crew.  We split up into teams and went to work trying to out build and create the other teams.  It was a little harder then I thought it would be.  Good thing we brought the glue guns.  The kids I think ate as much candy as they did putting it on their structure.  Over all it was really fun, and really messy.  The teams ended up being.  Dad, mom, Stephanie. Dean, Preston, and I.  Devin and Lisa, Matt and Marci, Shaylee and Tanner, Addison, Kendyll, and Tynlee. Jaden and Brecken.  Overall I think we did really good for our first time.  Devin and Lisa have been doing this for years so they were a little more invested then some.

Dickens Festival

We made it down to the Dickens Festival this year.  We made it Saturday Evening.  The last day.  We had basketball games all day and that is the soonest we could get down there with the whole family.  Brecken loves to go and look at all the trinkets, Landon wanted to get out of his stroller and just run everywhere.  Preston found a few things he felt he NEEDED, and the girls went around with me trying all the samples, and looking at all the cute clothes.  After the Dickens Festival we grab a dinner and did some shopping for our Gingerbread houses the next day.

Hurricanes' Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

We made it out to the first ever Christmas Tree Lighting in Hurricane.  They had it set up so cute with donuts, hot chocolate, a stage where entertainment was, as well as where Santa and Mrs Clause sat.  Santa came in a sleigh pulled by a horse.  We didn't make it for the lighting part...we had kids at to many activities, but we did make it to see it and walk around, drinking hot chocolate...or warm chocolate.  ha ha.  It was a cold night so we didn't last long hanging around, but it is a tradition I think will be fun to continue in the future if we can get there on time.  Preston is not pictured because High School Basketball is underway and we is missing most days.

Preston made the Freshman Basketball team.

Preston made the high School Freshman basketball team at the first of November.  He was pretty excited.  We all were.  We had a 3 hour parent meeting awhile back and I realized how much time and energy goes into high school sports.  Preston is gone all the time, and barley has time to eat.  He loves it though and is doing great.  They had their first pre season game this last Wednesday against Water Canyon.  They were close all game, but pulled out the win at the end.  Preston was the first sub this game.  He was the first off the bench and got some good playing time.  It was a good practice game for them to see what they can work on.

Thanksgiving With the Eves

We started Thanksgiving weekend off with family pictures.  We met up with everyone on Wednesday at the location for pictures, and had a blast.  It was so easy and fast.  Everyone looked great.  We were done in about a half hour.  After pictures we went over to moms to visit Justin's family.  Thursday our family was in charge of the mash potatoes.  We started at 1:00 and enjoyed good food and company.  We had a big coloring contest, and played some card games.  That night a couple family's went out for black Friday, but dean and I didn't need to this year.  We got home that night and turned on Home Alone for our first Christmas movie.  Friday morning Dean took some of the kids out to do some shopping, Addison went shooting, and I hung out with family at grandmas.  We all met up at lunch at grandmas and grandpas and to watch the Phil Michelson, and Tiger Woods paper view match up.  It lasted all day and went down to a few play off holes, with Phil winning!! We then came home that night and watched another Christmas show.  Saturday morning we woke up and put up our Christmas decorations and tree.  We took stuff to the DI, and watched Mya and Kai.  We then went over to moms and ate leftovers for dinner and hung out with family again.  We had such a fun and relaxing weekend spent with family.  I sure do love this crew of mine.
