Thanksgiving Day! (SNOW DAY)

We arrived Wednesday night and beat the snow storm.  Woke up the next morning to probably 9" of snow.  The kids were so excited they couldn't handle it.  They were outside in it before we could even finish up breakfast.  We of course had to steal all of Grandma's old snow clothes she had saved...boy did they come in handy. Landon sure put up a stink about the boots and coat and gloves...(everything), but he sure surprised us all when he stayed out there for hours with the younger kids.  Preston and Shaylee didn't last too long.  They didn't have boots, and things to keep them warm, but the 3 younger ones were in heaven all morning.  We finally called them in around 11:00 to get ready for Thanksgiving and help out however we could.  It was so good to see everyone.  We were missing Quin and Dani family, Dani had to work, but everyone else was there.  After the wonderful food we had the nativity, and bell program, followed by Dean doing a Christmas skit his dad always used to do.  Later that night we exchanged gifts with the family we had this year, and then some headed out shopping.  While this was all going on my knee cap popped out again, so I have a Dr. visit coming up.  I bring it up because It put a hinder on all my activities we had planned.

Preston Made the High School Basketball team.

Preston was a little bit nervous this year for tryouts.  Each year it seems they take less and less kids for the basketball team.  He made the Sophomore team and was super excited about it.  They had their first tournament they 2 days before Thanksgiving.  He played Tuesday, and if they lost they would play at 12, but it they won they would play at 3.  We were all hoping they would loss.  Just because a big snow store was in the forecast and driving later in the day was supposed to be a mess.  They won, and so we headed out to Enterprise to watch the 3:00 game the night before thanksgiving.  Preston played great, and the team ended up winning the tournament.  We then left straight from Enterprise to head up to the Monson's.  The roads were just starting to get snow, but at soon as we reached the outskirts of Cedar, we had smooth sailing the rest of the way.  I know we were blessed that night as well as a lot of other travelers that the storm held off tell early morning late night hours.

Brecken's Thankful Book

I pretty much had to document every page in his book because it just kept getting better.  I Love this kids and his thoughtfulness to people and his life.  He loves Church and Life and Jesus then the USA and the Utah Jazz...he also had T.V., but he said he had to put that or he couldn't watch the Jazz play.

Christmas Tree Decorating.

We decided to put the tree up the Sunday before we left.  Since Thanksgiving was so late this year, when we got back from up north it would already be December.  So we got it up and every year the kids to a great job with the decor.

Jubilee of Trees 2019

We've missed the Jubilee of Trees the last couple years, because we forget it's before Thanksgiving.  This year we remembered and took the whole family, but Lisa and Devin met up with us.  The kids said it's a good thing we don't come every year, and they weren't too impressed.  I felt like they didn't have as many trees as they have in prior years, but it was still fun to do something for the Holiday season with my whole family.

Dad's and Donuts/ Parent's and Pastries.

The boys were super excited for Dad's and Donuts this year.  Dad didn't have to work, and they were so excited to hang out with him.  They've changed it to parents and pastries, so I tagged along and took the pictures  They love eating the donuts, and then taking dad to the book fair to show him all the things they want.

Fall Leaves.

Every morning or afternoon while the leaves were falling Landon would beg to ride around the block so he could ride through the leaves.  The leaves got so thick on the side walk that they were getting stuck in his wheels, making it so he got stuck.  He thought it was great and could've ridden in them all day long.
