Trying something new

Dixie Jr. Livestock Show "Lambs"
A couple of Breckens friends did the livestock show last year and made it sound so great that they talked brecken into wanting to try it out.  We got him all signed up and ready to go and 2 days before the due date Addison decided she would like to try it out...when she found out there was money to be made.  So Wednesday Jan 10th we went and picked out our sheep and then went and cleaned out their stalls we would be moving them to come Saturday. It was pretty overgrown with weeds so we had to clean out all the stalls get all the feeding buckets and water buckets and cut down weeds so we could get to the lambs.   Since its Breckens first year he had a smaller size sheep. Addison's was a little bigger, but they are so excited already.  They can't wait to find out if they have a male or female to name it.  We've already had to buy our work boots, and halters and I'm sure so much more before this thing is through. They are excited for this new adventure and these two are my animal lovers so this will be good experience for them.

Jan 2nd-8th Chickun Gunya

Preston and companion had a great week.  He called it a week of miracles. He said they had so many friends the spirit guided them to and they were so excited to get them to church on Sunday.  Preston started to not feel good Saturday so Elder Torgeson called all the friends and they all said they would be their the next day to church.  Well Preston was really sick Sunday could barely even get out of bed but knew he needed to be at church for all his new friends.  They showed up and Elder Torgeson was walking around talking to everyone and Preston sat on a bunch and tried to stay upright.  They ended up with 3 people coming to church which is better than nothing and during the service or after President came up and told them to get Preston home he didn't look well.  They found out he had what paraguay calls Chikungunya.  It is transmitted by mosquitoes puts you out bad for like 7 days you feel like death.  (at least that is what our lady at the disease shot place told us before he left for paraguay.  She let him know they didn't have a shot for it and hoped he wouldn't get it because it was awful.  Well he finally did and so far it's been awful.  On Monday he was feeling a little better to talk to us and tell us about his friends and sickness.  Elder Torgeson has been taking care of him really well as he had the diseased last summer.  We found out the next day Tuesday he went into the hospital and they gave him some shots in the bum to hopefully help the disease move out of his body.  He had red bumps like chicken pox, but they dont itch just hurt and has really bad fevers, nausea, body aches and headaches.  Poor guy can't catch a break.  He is pretty sure he is down 20 lbs from when he got there.  Which he couldn't afford to lose and everyone on the street all the fatso and skinny. or a perfect 10 because preston looks like a one and Torgeson a 0.  Poor guys.  Hopefully we get a better report by next monday.  But as of Tuesday he was still down and out with shots from the hospital.
ps. don't mind me in these pictures another week of no hair done and makeup.  I  was helping clean a parade of homes house that was over 33,000 sq feet.

Jan 1st 2024 "New Years Day"

Been a minute

Hello everyone I'm back! It's been a minute. First of all MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR. I didn't realize.
My mom has given up on reminding me to write I think. Sorry mom. For those who still read these make sure to
thank Staci that I'm writing this. It made me realize that maybe there are still a few out there who read the emails.
So lets get into it. First of all thank you to all my family for writing me Happy Birthday, (parents of the boys I consider
you family so yes I'm thanking you too) .. Love you all ❤️.. This week was good. Christmas was very good. I'm in a
new area and zone that's a bit tougher but it's really fun. I got sent to do a whitewash with one of my homies
Elder Torgersen and he's incredible. He's a great example to me and we are always laughing. We are grinding
our very hardest and loving it. Love you all, have a blessed week.

New Years day was on a Monday so we were able to talk to Preston.  We had spent the morning taking down Grandpa and Grandmas stuff so we were a mess and cold for Pictures but that didn't stop us from getting some.  We were able to hear about his Christmas party with the area and President.  They had to sing a song and then do a talent with just their zone.  He also received our package so he was able to open Christmas and his birthday.  He said they had a okay week and had a couple people come for sunday service but not as many as they were hoping.  Preston said they had their Christmas party and then a Leadership conference a few days later.  His and Torgeson are working hard and hoping to find some friends that want to hear their message.  Story time: While they were driving in the car with their branch President Elder Torgeson leaned over and gave Preston a wet willy.  It caught him off guard and he turned and hit him in the head and when he did that Elder Torgerson's glasses flew out the window.  So elder Torgeson had to lean forward and ask President to stop the car because Elder Monson hit him and his glasses went out the window. Preston felt like he had to defend himself so he said well I  didn't mean to but Elder Torgeson gave me a wet willy....anyway they both think the branch president thinks they are a bunch of little kids who need to grow up. Preston is dying of heat and Humidity as well are all cold back home.  Loved talking to him and listening to his stories.  He loves the people and the country and the work.
