The Drum Show

Preston's third grade class has been practicing the last month or so with drums, to put on a show for the parents.  Preston came home so excited to announce that he got the drum he wanted.  The big one...he said it's the most important one because it keeps the beat for everyone else to follow.  They also got to put together little groups and make up there own song with drums.  His friends and him did a great job with what they made up. ..which they even sang a little in.  He did a great job, and we are so proud of him.  I think I have one more awards program and then we will be done with all the overload of program pictures.  I think!!

The Little Red Hen

Shaylee had her end of year play this last week.  The did a the play "The little red Hen"...in English, and Chinese.    We left Brecken home with grandpa for 1/2 hour while we ran to the school to watch her debut as the Red Hen.  They did such a cute job with the play there were over 50 students, but  it ran really smoothly and they all did great.  Shaylee did all her parts really well.  She sure has excelled, and had such a fun year in the Chinese immersion program.

These are her wonderful teachers.  Mrs. Christensen is the Chinese teacher, and Mrs. Varga is the English teacher.  Shaylee loved them both so much.

Perfect Attendance

The morning after I had Brecken was a Friday.  Down here it's a short day.  The kids go to school tell 1:15, and Kindergarten (addy) goes tell 10:30.  So we decided to just not send Addison, and she could help Dean come get me and the baby, we didn't want to have to send her for only an hour then turn around and come get her.  So She went in and gave her teacher her last Teacher Appreciation gift and hurry and made my mothers day gift and they were on there way.
Well I get a call on my phone while in the hospital from the school saying we have a absent student and we needed to call and excuse her.  So I called and excused her, well not even 2 minutes later, I have Dean answer my phone, and it's the principle, he starts talking to Dean and I wonder what's going on...well He wanted to know why Addison wasn't at school, and get some info about it...come to find out it was the perfect attendance assembly that day for any kid who didn't miss a day of school the whole year.  Well Addison hadn't until that day so her name was in all sorts of drawing to win things.  All the students got to choose things off a table.   Shaylee choose Addison a small basketball, and a soccer ball.  Come to find out they have had bikes displayed all year as an incentive for the kids.  Well they had a boy bike and a girls bike for grades K-2, and another for 3-5.  Addison's name was drawn for the bike.  Everyone was laughing because she wasn't there...go figure...but her teacher explained the situation, and the principle called just to check , but they choose to still give it to her!!!  She was so excited as well as us.  Also, the principle asked us if we had a vehicle to fit the bike...because it had a flat from sitting all year, he said yes, then he asked Dean if he had a vehicle to handle 2 bikes.  Preston's name had been drawn for the bigger bike in the 3-5 grade level...What????  They were both so excited.  He also choose a water bottle , and a new basketball as well.  What are the odds.  They sure do love there new bikes.  Shaylee hadn't missed a day all year, until the week before when she stayed home on a friday because of Throw ups.  She was a little sad but so excited for her brother and sister.  She is taking over Preston's old bike, and they are painting it, and putting on girl stickers so she is very excited as well.

Addison's Kindergarten Program!!

Proud to be an American
Addison had her end of year program, that the kindergartners always put on.  She sang and danced her little heart out.  She did such a great job, at the program, and this school year.  We couldn't be prouder. After the program a few of her biggest fans came with us to DQ for an Ice cream.

Preston helped post the colors again this year.  He did such a great job.

Tooth missing

Shaylee loves to pull out her own teeth.  Weird I know.  She does not take after her mom, I couldn't even look at her pulling it.  I didn't even think it was ready, but she was bound and determined to get that thing out.  I think this makes #7 for her.  Preston is upset because she is catching up to him, I had to explain that he will be losing his teeth less often now because they are all molars and take a lot longer to fall out.  He didn't buy it.  We sure do love this toothless girls of ours though.

End of Season!

We finished up the girls soccer season this last Saturday.  I feel bad but being a coach made it so I didn't take any pictures.  Instead of focusing on my girls, I had to focus on 11 girls from 5-8 years old.  Fun stuff.  Dean helped out the entire season (thank goodness I had him).  We had fun coaching our girls, and they have already asked us to coach next year.  Ummmm, will have to think about that.
