Cozumel Day #3

Saturday morning we woke up early again to catch the ferry over to cozumel.  It's about a 40 minute ferry ride over to the island and we wanted to spend the day there. We were excited to go over to Cozumel to do some snorkeling.  They said some of the best snorkeling is over in Cozumel. Again we had some issues with direction and finding parking but overall we made it in time and soon we were on the ferry heading out.  I  was a little nervous about the boat ride because of my motion sickness, but I  barely felt it on the way there and it was great.  We got off the ferry and found a taxi that could fit all of us. We ended up on a private beach with access to snorkel gear, pool, chairs, and bathrooms, so we paid a little bit more then we would have liked but new we would spend the day there.  We headed straight into the ocean with our snorkel gear and saw so many fish the highlight for most of us was the baracoda we saw.  It was the biggest fish we saw of the day.  Lots of colorful fish.  It got a little windy and the waves were a little choppy so I only lasted about 40 minutes in the ocean, that and Landon does not like the salt water so he wanted out pretty much as soon as he put him head underwater.  Preston was nice and patient with him and helped him with his goggles and snorkel gear.  After some time snorkeling they have these 3 pools right by the restaurant you can use so the boys enjoyed those while I  watched them and the other kids did some sunbathing down by the ocean.  We grabbed a lunch and drinks.  We were all starving and loved what we ate.  Well I  did anyway I  got some chips and salsa and it was delicious.  After eating we did some more swimming and snorkeling and finished up around 3:00 so we could do some shopping and get on the ferry by 4:00.  We found some great deal on some glasses, necklaces, and jewelry.  On the way back the ferry was really bumpy and rocky so I  mostly tired to breathe and keep my eyes closed.  It was rough.  Landon wasn't feeling to good either, but we made it back to land and headed home we were all beat from the last few days of going and going.  We hung out in our condo and watched the olympics and ate some dinner.

Playa del Carmen Day 2

We woke up to some sick people.  Shaylee and I  (amber) were up most of the night with some bathroom issues.  We were the only ones to eat some chicken tacos so we think that was the issue.  Mine resolved itself by morning but Shaylee was still feeling all the crap all day.  We had booked tickets to Xcarat which is kind of like an amusement/water park, but mostly just rivers, cenotes, sea animals, and the ocean.  Dricing in Mexico is really fun.  No lanes anyone just a big mess was what it was. lol. Dean did great though and we only took wrong turns a few times. We started our morning off bright and early to get into the park and get to the cave rivers.  We started there and many people did so we were packed into this river which was nice and cool. brrr.  It was really cool, but also really long and having a ton of people kicking you and life jackets that don't fit to was a little rough.  It was beautiful though and we loved it.  Every once in awhile the cave would open up to the outside and it was beautiful.  After the caves we went exploring to find the jaguars and bird area.  Shaylee wasn't doing to good around then so we went to find a bathroom and a place to sit down while the others explored. We found a flock of flamingos so of course we had to stop and get pictures with them.   We did make it into the jaguar area but didn't see any.  The bird area was really cool as we got to see babies hatching, and all sorts of birds hanging around on the trees.  They also went into a butterfly area as well. After a few hours everyone was hungry so we went to our buffet that came with out tickets.  They had all sorts of food to try and it actually tasted pretty good.  I  loved the grilled chicken. Some liked the fruit and others the sushi.  We were so full after the buffet and decided to head out and see the sea turtles.  We all could have stayed there all day it was amazing how big they were.  So fun.  Addison was definitely in love with them.  We stayed around the turtles for quite awhile, the moved on to dolphins and sharks after which we headed to the other river which was an outdoor river so we were all excited for that.  We had all gotten pretty hot during this time so the water felt extra cold.  We jumped in and were amazed by all the greenery and walls of moss, waterfalls and trees.  We loved this river it did take us into a couple caves which had bats so we all got a little anxious around them. lol. but it was still beautiful and fun.  We popped out of the cave into this tree branches growing out of the water.  It was really cool to go through that.  Once we were done with that river I  think we all went back over by the hammocks and the ocean to sit and relax.  The boys played in the sand and went exploring while we gave Shaylee a break from walking with her belly.  We then decided to head home for the day and ran into  a monkey at the end. which was really cool.  The kids stayed there awhile and the monkey seemed to love the attention and was doing all sorts of tricks for everyone.  When we got back to our place the kids all went to the pool to hang out for a little bit and then at some quesadillas for dinner in our condo and watched some olympics.
