Landon Soccer game.

Landon had a big cheer section while I  was down watching Addison play tennis.  Uncle Matt came lisa and devin with their girls as well as Grandma and Grandpa.  Landon scored 4 goals but the other team won us 4-6.  Landon played great and uncle matt was there to give all the pointers he could to help Landon play better.  Landon loves Matt so he ate it all up.  I  sure do love this family of mine.

 

Tennis Tournament

Another weekend another tournament.  Shaylee and Preston were down for a wedding and a farewell. 

Addison played great Friday and won 2 and lost one so we went into the gold bracket leading into saturday.  We've made it to the gold bracket before and leave empty handed.  Everyone else made it to the medal round for Saturday as well. So We divided this weekend.  Matt was also visiting and he came over and watched Landon at his soccer game.  Lisa and Devin also went and watched.  Shaylee, Steph and I  came down to support Addison.  They were setting at the bottom of the golf bracket so we had to play the #1 in the golf bracket.  We actually started out slow and lost the first match, but came back and fought hard but still lost.  So we were playing for the bronze medal for our last match.  It was a great matchup but we played so well and won them pretty quick. We were excited our first medal and it was in the gold bracket.  Everyone on the team won a medal most of them from the silver bracket, but it was a great day for all Hurricanes teams that day.  We only have like 1 week left of tennis before we head into region tournament.

 

Amy's Headstone

On Monday Steph let us know they were putting in amy's headstone.  Her friend works at the place they made the headstone so she was nice and kept us up to date on everything.  We waited till Tuesday when mom and dad came back from up north and headed over with the sisters, and them.  We stopped and grabbed some flowers and headed over to La Verkin to see our sister.  It was bittersweet coming back to the cemetery I  hadn't been back since her funeral.  The headstone looked beautiful and turned out so nice.  It still feels surreal that she isn't with us anymore.  Sometimes when I  walk into my parents house my eyes travel to Amy's chair where she always sat just to be reminded that she isn't there anymore.  I  was looking at last years pictures and to see her and know she was just here with us and how fast life changes it makes you ponder and take a step back from the busyness of life and be reminded of the important things and what matters most.  I  miss Amy and think of her often.  I  know she is loving and living her best life up in heaven and I  can't wait for the reunion we will all have with her when we join her.  

 

Fall Soccer

I  was able to get to Landon's soccer game this week because Addison didn't play till later and Landon had an earlier game.  I  was excited to watch him.  He was playing against his friend Barrett who is a giant next to Landon.  Landon's soccer skills are amazing but barrett is a big boy and twice as tall as Landon.  Landon was able to get off a couple goals against them, and they were hard fought, but the other team one by one goal I  do believe.  It was a fun game to watch though and I  was proud of Landon and how hard he played.  He had been sick all week with fever and runny nose so when he got subbed out he would just lay in the chair, but when he was in he gave his all.  Love watching that kid.

 

Landon get the Expander

My last 2 kids got the worst teeth with underbites.  Brecken had to start his expander and braces really young when he was 7.  Landon also is following in Breckenes footsteps.  He will not need braces just yet, but we started our 9 month time with the expander in.  Once that has been in about 6 weeks we then will get a headgear.  None of my kids have had to have a headgear,  I  did at night and I hated it so I  feel bad for landon.  Hopefully they have made the head gear more comfortable to sleep in.  His jaw needs to be moved forward now or he will have to have jaw surgery later in life to move it.  So we at least caught it in time to get it fixed while he is young enough.  He will wear the headgear for a year and then we will reassess  where his team and jaw are at.  We have been wearing the expander for about 3 weeks and his 2 front teeth have already started to move themselves forward over the bottom teeth.  Here is to the long journey he is in for with all the mough hardware. 

 

Tennis Senior Night

Our Senior night was really early in the season because the second half of our tennis season we were not at home.  I  made the 3 seniors some leis, but instead of candy I  put in gum, fingernail polish, lotions, sprays, chapstick and other things.  The team gave them all cute water bottles, and treats.  I  can't believe this is Addison's last year playing.  She has learned and grew so much.  It's been a fun season to watch her adn her partner play.  Addison played Pineview for her senior night and they had a hard fought battle.  They lost their first set fairly fast, and we then came back and won the second set, but not without a battle.  We went into the third set and got up quick, but then the next points kept going into deuce.   It seemed like every point was fought back and forth going into add in or add out over and over.  Finally after 2 hours we were able to pull out the win against them.  Our win in 2nd doubles made it so our team won the match. 3-2.  We were all very excited.  We have another tournament this weekend so hopefully it goes well.
