Weekly recap

This week was our first full week back to school.  We worked with our sheep a few days this week and Addison's sheep "Downs" will not even stand up and put up a fight.  She just plays dead and falls to the ground.  She will not let us walk her.  This might be a long few months. On the opposite scale Breckens sheep "Harriet" walks great with him and is so mild tempered.  We really haven't had an issue with his so far.  We also had basketball again this week.  Landon played 2 games and won them both.  Shaylee came down and watched one with her roomates. Preston came and watched the second game with his friends so Landon had a cheering section.

Landon Club Basketball

Landon and his team had back to back games on Saturday.  The first game was against Mesquite and they were a good team.  We stayed with them through the whole game but it went back and forth.  We finally pulled out the win at the end and won 42-35.  Landon had a good game, got some great shots, had great steals and hustled.  Second game was an all girl team.  We beat them by a lot.  I  think they ended with 2 points.  It was rough, but the boys were able to slow down and practice some of the plays they have been learning in practice and fine tuning some things.

Sheep tagging

Brecken and Addison with Dean took their sheep down to get tagged and weighed.  Addison's weighed 67, and Bracken's weighed 57.  Addison's loves to play dead and make Everyone was laughing at her because she doesn't just lay there but she flops her head and everything to make it look like she passed out.  She is a little drama queen. Breckens was pretty good and didn't cause to many issues.

Red Cliffs Temple Baptisms

We tried to get a temple apt when everyone was home but Brecken could get ordained a deacon in time or get a recommend so we had to just go with Breckenn and Addison.  We went on a friday afternoon.  It was so peaceful and exciting to have Brecken baptising for the first time.  He loved it and said he couldn't wait to go back.  which is a good thing because he is going again with some friends next week.  Addison was a sweetie and made sure he understood and felt special.  She is so good with the boys.  Dean and I  enjoyed being with those two.  We all had Dean confirm us and we had some really special names.  Addison had one that Dean couldn't pronounce and it was like 10 names, and then Brecken got one and it was just Cudd.  We all got a laugh over that one.  I  can't wait to go back again and hopefully get the other kids with us.

Jazz game

Preston and Shaylee didn't have school start back up until Jan 8th so they left the 7th to head back home.  Preston got up there just in time to go to a jazz game with some of his buddies.  He had lower bowl seats which he said was awesome and he had a great time with his friends.  He sent me some pictures and had to tell us he got a picture with Tyler Haws one of BYU's best basketball players to go through BYU"s program.

Sheep 2025

We had to get our sheep out of marks stable by Wednesday so Tuesday the coldest windiest day of the whole winter we had to go and clean pens and get sheep and good all ready.  It was hard work, but what made it worse is the wind.  Dirt, hay weeds everything was blowing everywhere why you were shoveling and raking.  We got there around 2:30 and around 3:30 I  went to go grab Landon while the others went to go grab their sheep from marks.  Next thing I  know Addison and Brecken have been gone another 2 hours.  When they got the sheep they came to bring them back to their pens and they had 11 sheep with them.  4 made it into their pens the other 7 ran away.  They spent an hour trying to catch all 7 of these stubborn sheep and it was not easy.  Everyone was dirty, cold, tired and annoyed after that long day but the sheep are in their pens and the feedings, walking, and tagging starts next.

Club Basketball and Becoming a Deacon

The last weekend of break before all the kids left for school Landon had his first game of Club Basketball.  He played against snow canyon hoops.  They beat them by like 25.  Landon had a good game and it was fun for all the family and steph to be there to support him.  Preston and Shaylee didn't get to see a lot of his rec games so they enjoyed watching this game with us.  Landon is on the u8 Hurricane hustlers silver team.  He is learning a lot and it's been good for him.   He had some great shots, put up some good points, had tons of steals and rebounds and is learning to not travel as much. lol.  After the game we all went to dinner at Bishops.   Not our first choice but on a saturday night we got right in and waited less the 15 minutes for our food.   We went to paula's first and it was over a hour to wait for food and we were all hungry and didn't have the patients to wait. The next day Brecken was getting set apart as a deacon to pass the sacrament for our ward.  He was pretty excited and nervous to do his first sacrament passing.  We called grandpa and grandma to come and be included in his priesthood blessing of becoming a deacon.  He made sure he passed to us his first time and he did so good.  This boy is growing like weed and now we need to find church pants and shirts that will fit him.  I  think we will have to move up to men's small in the dress shirt.  Hope we cant find something that will work for him.  We are so proud of him and blessed to have him in our family.  He is so easy going and always giving the best hugs.
