Fiesta Fun/pneumonia/back surgery

The boys have had gift cards to Fiesta Fun since Christmas so we took the boys down to play one day.  they of course wanted to use all their money on the games for tickets.   They used up all their money in about an hour and we headed out to go visit grandpa in the hop\spital.  Grandpa got sick and went downhill very fast.  Mom took him up to insta care and they put him in an ambulance to head to the hospital.  His oxygen levels were so bad they had the tank of oxygen full blast and it wasn't getting him anywhere close to good levels. Jer bear was septic and it was a close call if they would have to put him on a ventilator or not.  We were all pretty scared that first day, but he reacted well to the medicine and told him he had pneumonia.  The bad news was dad has b een waiting for back surgery since october and he was finally scheduled for February when this all went down so we were all afraid we would have to put of his surgery.  He was in the hospital for 3 days for the pneumonia and they let him headed home.  He recovered well the next week and was able to get his back surgeries.  2.  yep they opened him up on tuesday and then again on friday and he came home on Sunday.  So to day mom and him are done with hospitals is an understatement.   lol.  He is recovering well and we hope this will be a good thing for him. 

 

Last Club Basketball game

Landon's team made it into the tournament bracket sitting in 3rd.  If you worn you played again, if tou lost your out of the Championship.  They all played so well.  We won the first game and moved onto the 2nd round.  We had lost to this team before but ended up doing well against them and winning.  We moved onto the Championship game. Again we had played this team before as well they had a tall girls team witha few good boys.  The girls out rebounded us and we just couldn't get in there to get a rebound.  They won us in the championship game by a basket.  It was fun to watch these boys each week and see how much they have improved.  Landon loves basketball and we just need to get him to stop traveling and we are set. lol

 

Valentines Day

Valentines was on a Friday and I'm room mom for Landon's class.  Since Friday's are early out days we had to get to the school right at 9:00 to do our Valentines day party.  I  did a painting project, there was a donut station, water painting station, bingo, and a bouncing ball game. The kids seemed to all have fun and we definitely leave exhausted.  Teachers really our the best.  Landon wanted to make a vending machine for his Valentine box.  So the night before we got to work on it.  I  think it turned out okay, and Landon loved it and was more worried about getting the candy from it after school, plus the one dollar bill.  Brecken had his first year of no class party he said a bunch of people brought stuff for their valentines but he wouldn't be caught dead handing out things to girls.  lol.  Dean got me some flowers and heart shaped reeses with a wonderful not.  I  got him Reeses as well.   Preston was down this weekend so he ate our Valentines meal with us.  The younger kids wanted DQ and Addison.  Dean, Preston, and myself got Texas Roadhouse to go.  Then we didn't need to fight the big crowds.  Overall I  think it was a sucessful Valentines day.  I  sure do love my family. 

 

Temple and family weekend

In february we were able to get the Monson crew together and go to the temple for Dad Monson's birthday.  We went to the St. George temple and did an endowment with everyone, and those who were old enough went and did baptisms while we were in the endowment session. It was a wonderful experience and I  loved spending time with the Monson family.  Afterwards we all met up with the youngsters who couldn't go to the temple and we at lunch together at Cafe Rio.  We then headed home to get one of the girls off to work.  Later that night we went over and visited the Eves crew because Justin and Katie were in town.  The next morning Sunday we headed back down to St. George to go to our niece paiges baby girl Charli's blessing.  They had the blessing at her in-laws home, we made it back home to hit up our ward where Brecken spoke in Sacrament.  He did such a great job for his first time speaking and it was a joy to listen and hear him. I  sure do love our family on both sides.  We are truly blessed.

 

Utah Hockey game

For Christmas I  got the boys Utah Hockey Club game tickets.  They've been wanting to go and pricing has been so high on them, but we were able to get some up in the nose bleeds and made it so they could all go together.  The younger boys were excited to see Preston most of all, and I  think they all had a blast at the game.  They ended up losing the game after being up the whole game but they still had a good time.  They stayed the night at grandma Monson's since it was a late game and came home the next day for Landons club basketball game.

 

Ballroom student showcase

Addison has been working so hard on ballroom and got together with a few girls and choreographed a couple dances.  She loves it and looks so good up on the stage.  She spent some hours learning and making up these dances and it was fun to see her hard work pay off.  I sure do love this girl.
