Preston found a little apartment and him and his high school friends will be staying in it while most of them go to BYU and Trey heads to UVU. It was a fun summer with everyone home and under one roof. Even though we didn't see Preston a lot with his work and friends we still loved having him around. We will miss him. but are so excited for this school year for him. Freshman year is done and Sophomore year will be great. His roomates are Weston, Trey, and Hollis with Payton hopefully coming up after this first semester is over.

Addison's First day of Utah tech
Addison had freshman orientation for a few days leading up to the first day of school, So she felt like she had already been going. The first official day was Wednesday the 20th. She had all her roommates move in this last weekend. She loves her roommate she rooms with she is in the Nursing program and is really busy, but addison says she is really sweet. Addison also said her first class was biology and she walked in to a class of 8. That was it. Big difference between the class sizes at BYU and Utah Tech. Granted 8 seems not normal either, but she isn't as afraid of biology now because she feels she will get more one on one help if needed. I'm excited for this girl and hopes she has a great year.

Shaylee Mission 8/13-8/18 2025
Shaylee had a very busy week with her mission. They were able to have an apostle come to their mission. Elder Sorez came and spoke to just the missionaries for a 2 hour session. He shook all their hands and had a good convo with Shaylee about President Monson. They had 9 sisters I think in their house for the session.

CHAPTER 6: Glen Allan/ Sherwood Park
WEATHER: 47-60s (It was cold. And there was lots of rain)
Whats up guys!!! I wasn't going to send a email this week but i know for many of you hearing from me is the highlight of your week... so here we are! (also my mom told me to send one) Ill keep this one short and sweet!
So me and my really tight friend Elder Ulisses Soares were able to meet up this week. We were able to shake hands and get a super sick picture. We caught up on life for a couple of seconds and it truly was a great experience. On a real note though elder soares came to our mission and spoke to us for 2 hours! All 172 missionaries from my mission were able to come and hear him speak. It was truly an amazing experience!
EXTRA THINGS THAT HAPPENED
○ Had the best Mexican food of my life
○ Saw a 50 year old that wore a thong
○ Talked to some Chinese people who invited us to go get tea with them
○ Had 3 friends come to church

○ Went golfing today
○ Had exchanges
○ Tried a canadian soda
○ Did a ice bucket challenge
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Since me and Elder Ulisses Soares were able to meet up i wanted to share something he said that I really liked. When he spoke to us he put a huge emphasis on joy. He said " When you loose your joy, you loose your faith. And when you loose your faith, you loose your joy." I think these two lines are so interchangeable. Ive noticed this in my own life. THIS IS THE GOSPEL OF JOY!!! JESUS CHRIST IS JOY! Let us not loose sight of that. Let us stand firm in our faith, through our faith we can have joy. I invite you all to reflect back on your life and ask yourself when have you felt the most joy? When I did this i realized that ive had the most joy when ive been close to my savior jesus christ and his gospel. Im sure many of you, as you reflect, will find this to be true for you as well.
I love you all! Thanks for all of the love and support!!!
