Bear Lake: Bloomington lake hike and Eves Family Golf Tournament
It was another beautiful morning with a coolness in the air. The golfers were up nice and early saying they needed to get in their practice for the family golf tournament. I met my boys on hole 1 and walked with them tell about hole 7. It was Dean, Landon, and Preston rounding out the group from the morning so I walked with them. They all had some decent shots on hole number 1. Landon kept his in the fairway and said he ended up with a bogey on that hole. Not sure how accurate he is with his counting, but the kid loves to play, just doesn't like to take his time. Preston and Dean had some good rounds and I headed back in to get breakfast going and people ready for the Bloomington Lake hike we were going on that morning. We all were out the door with a picnic lunch (left-overs from lake day plus some) and our hiking shoes. We tired to all fit in 3 trucks but some of the older kids wanted to take grandpas side by side. So we left and were cruising until we got behind some very slow people going up the canyon. It was so backed up. Like 14 cars. Then to have people coming down in trailers no less there was no room on the road for anyone. It was probably the longest it's taken us to get up there and it was already pretty packed. I grew up coming here and there wasn't a soul in sight. we would be all by ourselves and now its a tourist trap. We were a little worried about grandpa making the hike, but he reassured us he wasn't going to get left behind and he was going to hike it with everyone. He did amazing and of course didn't complain one bit. On the hike we saw mirrors with quotes on them and realized a youth group probably just did the hike. Mom and I took a picture by some of the mirrors along the way. Most of our crew headed to the line for the rope swing. It was so crowded but most people wanted to wait to edo it so we got to the front of the line and got all our group out pretty fast. Landon, Brecken, Addison all did it. Preston went on the paddle board with tanner to go to some cliff jumping on the other side. While we were watching the last of our crew rope swing we realized tynlee, addison and kendyll all decided to swim across the lake after we told them not to because it was to cold and to far. We were all pretty upset and made Preston turn around and grab them on his paddle board so they didn't'[t have to swim back. Preston was wearing a life jacket so he swam back while the girls all used the paddleboard. Boy did they get a talking to from the parents and grandparents. After we had, had our fill of the hike we headed back down the mountain and decided to eat our lunch by our cars. We had chicken sandwiches or turkey sandwiches with grapes and chips. We headed back down the mountain to get ready for our annual Eves family golf tournament. It started at 3 this time because they had a tournament that evening. We were in our teams that steph put together. We had team #1 which consisted of Devin, Jaden, Sam, and Brecken. Team #2 is Jerry, Preston, Lisa, Jessica, and Lakers as their driver. Team #3 was Grandma Patty, Tanner, and Tynlee with Addison and Kendyll as drivers. Since they only had 3 on their team they got to have a extra hit. Then Team #4 was Dean, Stephanie, Chloe, and Landon with me as the driver. it was such a nice day with a little breeze. Everyone was doing well and I was driving around trying to get pictures of every team. I would say around hole 5 it started to get really windy, and a chill was in the air. by hole 8 I ran inside my parents house to grab a jacket I couldn't take it anymore. Some clouds had moved in and the sun just wasn't warming us up. We were the last team in and it ended up that Grandma's team won. They got 4 under, while Steph's team and Grandpas team tied for 2nd with a 2 under, and Devins team brought up the rear with an even score. Everyone had fun and grandpa said next year there is no drivers we all play. That should be fun. After golf it was my turn for dinner so I ran over to the store to grab a few last minute things. We had pasta with Chicken and Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce with sausage. Garlic toast, salad, and fruit rounded out the meal. By the end of the day were are all dead and just lay around and play some games. It was a great day and tomorrow we were celebrating Grandma Hannahs 90th birthday with a big Williamson reunion.
