We decided it was time for Brecken to get his tonsils out back in December. He had some sleeping issues, and snored a lot. They told us this should help. It was scheduled for January 24, but then had to be rescheduled by the dr because he was going to be out of town. So February 12th was the day. It made it so I wouldn't be able to go up to the monson temple trip, but we decided Dean could go and I would stay back with the little boys. We woke up bright and early to be out the door by 7:00 am Brecken is not a morning person and I told him he would get some rest when we got to the surgery. He didn't like that answer. Brecken was worried sick. He was so scared for his surgery, but not the surgery or post op care, but the iv they would be putting into him before the surgery. I felt bad for him he was so nervous and when he is nervous he laughs a lot. We had Preston facetime with us and that was fun and helped relax Brecken. Grandpa facetimed us as he dropped off Landon to school for us. Addison called and checked in as well as Dad so it was nice to see how loved he was. When he changed into his hospital gown they told him he could use their socks or his own and he could keep his bottoms on. He chose his own socks because he liked them he said. The iv did not go well. He moved a little to much and they missed the vein so they had to try again. The second time was the charm and after that he calmed down quite a bit. He told me he was cold especially his feet he asked me to pull the blanket down so it would cover his feet more. When I got to the bottom of the bed I found out why his feet were cold. He had two big holes in them. I laughed and asked him why he didn't wear their socks. He said he liked his. We laughed about the two big holes and I tried to cover up his feet as best as I could. We sat in the back room for about an hour and a half. They then took him back and they told me to pull my car around to the pick up side and come in through the cack door and wait for brecken there. His surgery was maybe an hour tops with wake up time and everything. He did so good and the dr said his tonsils were big when he was relaxed and sleeping. So it was good they came out. He was a little loopy when he came out and sick. He felt like he was going to throw up. We got him situated with a throw up bag in the car and headed home. He slept the whole way home then we got him comfortable on the couch and he zonked out a little more. He felt pretty good that first day and was so hungry. He was having me make meal after snack and nothing was working for him but popsicles. He had visitors that night of the Grandparents and Steph. They brought over a redlight to wear around his neck a couple times a day to help with healing. He did great that first day and now it was just time to heal.
