Under the Sea

Girls Dance Recital
*Spring 2012*
I am a little slow at writing this, because are beloved computer up and died on us.  Dean made it back from Costco with a hard drive, and we were able to barely save all our stuff before it crashed.  Thank goodness.  So we are borrowing a computer for the time being, tell we figure out what we are going to do. In the mean time I have tons of post because it's that time of year so bear with us as we play catch up.

On May 18th and 19th the girls performed in their dance recital "Under the Sea".  The did a dance called "Beyond the sea".  They did such a great job.  I am surprised every time they preform at how well they do, and how they love to be on stage.  They of course do better with a big group then by themselves.  They love ballet and have enjoyed taking it here at the rec-center.  We of course had some of their biggest fans their again, and the boys of course had to bring them some flowers.  Addison loves this.  Dean could only make it to Saturday's performance so I told him to bring the flowers then, well Friday night Addison kept asking where I was hiding the surprise.  I had to explain that the boys give the flowers not the mom, and they would have to wait and see what tomorrow would bring.  So for Friday night we went out to Dairy Queen to get some Ice Cream.  Addison was so excited to see those flowers at the end of her performance on Saturday, it was priceless and well worth the money.

When the boys are away....

The girls will Play

The boys had their annual Father's and Son's this past weekend.  Which meant the girls and I got to have some fun having a girls night.  The girls have been planning what they wanted to do for weeks now.  I told them it was just one night...not a week.  They still had plenty they wanted to accomplish.  We ended up playing at the splash pad with friends Friday afternoon, while we waited for Addison to get done with a birthday party, and also we were waiting to send the boys off.  So after some fun at the splash pad, and sending the boys off we headed down to St. George to play.  We started off at Target to go buy a new Strawberry Shortcake movie, so that we could watch it that night.  We also found some fun nail polish at the dollar store, so we could paint of toes and nails.  While we were shopping our Aunt Stephanie (my sister) called and said she was down, and wanted to play.  So we decided we would get a quick bite to eat, then head home to play with aunt Stephanie.  The girls chose "Golden Coral"...at least I new they would eat something there.

We then ended up back at grandma's painting faces.  Addison got her face painted at the party she went to earlier that day, and Shaylee was dying to get hers done as well.  So Stephanie and I decided to have at it.  We did great if I do say so myself.  Then Shaylee and Addison decided that Stephanie, and I couldn't be left out.  So we got ours painted as well.

We then ended up at one of our favorite Treat spots.  "Snow Caps".  We love this place during the summer, and wish they were open all year round.

We headed back to grandma's and played with everyone for a while longer.  Then headed down to our house to start the movie, get out the goodies, and paint our nails

We had a blast, I think we covered most of the stuff they wanted to do. I love my girls and feel so blessed to have both of them so close.  They are so good together.  I loved that they have each other, and that they are mine forever. What a great night.

Great way to end a Season!!

We had our last soccer game, last weekend.  It was great to be done, and even better that we ended on a positive note.  This was the first year they aloud U8 to be competitive, and the first year Hurricane teams even played competitive. Boy was it a learning year.  Dean was the Soccer coach, and Preston loved having his dad do that.  We scored one goal the first game, and then that was it.  We wont talk about how many the other teams scored.  The last game however, we got not 1, or not even 2, but 3 Goals!!!!Yea!!! We were so excited.  Preston actually scored all 3.  I  don't know who was more excited the parents all screaming and jumping up and down on the sidelines or the boys.  I'm going to go with the parents.  It was a fun year, and we learned a lot.  Preston had fun, and that all that matters.

Tikki Tikki Tembo

Preston's 2nd Grade play
5-3-2012

Preston's 2nd grade class did an end of year play "Tikki Tikki Tembo".  To be honest I had never hear the story before.  It was fun to watch, and was about 20 minutes long which was perfect.  Preston was a boy named "Ping-Ping".  Yea I know.  Who was flying a kite hence the kite in his hands in most of the pictures.  He did have a line.  Which he definitely got the Eves gene for anything to do with acting.  (That is all I'll say on that matter).
After the play Preston got a picture with his Awesome teacher this year Mrs. Christian.  She has really work well for Preston and understands his personality so well.  We definitely lucked out.
And of course we have the fan club.  Thanks for the support Grandpa and Grandma.

Proud to be an American...

Shaylee's Kindergarten Program
5-2-2012

Shaylee had her Kindergarten program this year.  They always do the same program every year.  They do a patriotic program.  The kids love to decorate their own shirts, and wear them that night.  Shaylee sang so well she loves to preform with a group.  If she was by herself it would be a different story, but with others around her...she really got into it.  She sang beautifully and loud so we could hear her. She is getting so big.  The teacher had her move down to the front row about 1/2 way through the performance, and I could hear her telling her friends behind her that she was now boy trapped.  She makes me laugh.

They asked Preston to be in the color guard and be in charge of presenting the flag, and leading us in the pledge.  He did a great job.  I think I was more nervous then him, this was his first time doing it and in front of about 400+ people.  Good job Preston.
And of course all the adoring fans that came to support Shaylee and Preston.  Thank you.

Grow Baby Grow!!

Our Garden
After the Soccer games on Saturday, we decided we better get our garden in.  We started a little late this year, but we should be just fine.  We loved our garden last year, and cant wait to try a few new things this year, and hopefully next year.  The kids get so involved and I love it.  This year the girls really, really wanted Strawberries, and Watermelon.  We knew that Strawberries didn't do so well down here in the heat, so we talked them into watermelon, boy were they excited to plant that one.  We got 18 tomato plants, we might go get 6 more to finish off the last planter box.  3 Squash and Zucchini. 2 pepper plants, 1 Red, 1 Green, 1 Jalapeno, Green onions, Cilantro, 6 cucumber plants, and last but not least 2 watermelon plants.  We hope the garden does well this year.  We've been praying everyday for it to grow....especially those darn watermelons. ha ha.

Hip Hip Horray!!

Girls Soccer

We finished the girls soccer season last Saturday.  They both had a great time, and loved being able to play together.  I loved it, because I didn't have to go to two different sets of games.  It was a beautiful day to play soccer.  It got up into the high 90's so it was a good thing our game was early at 8 in the morning.  Shaylee had about 6 goals, and Addison scored a goal this game as well.  Yea!!! They loved their coach, and team.  What a fun Year of Soccer.
