Labor Day Weekend!!

We knew we would be in town Labor day weekend, so we knew we would be heading for Peach days.  We ended up staying around the house Friday since we had some appointments we had to go to later in the day, and Dean had to work.  So the kids and I had a movie night and stayed in for the night. The next morning we were up and headed to the Peach days parade.  This parade is defiantly the best out of all the parades throughout the year.  The kids had a blast, and the sun cooperated for the most part, and stayed behind some clouds.

We then headed over to do our annual Home Depot craft.  The girls were excited because they found a girl craft this year.  (a heart shelf).  I didn't have Dean with me to help with each project, so I thought we would have to take them home to finish them, but Preston did awesome, and he built his by himself, I just helped a little with the glue since there wasn't a lid on it.  Also the girls was really easy so we they did theirs really fast as well, I didn't really have to do anything this year.
We then headed off to find Cotton Candy of course, and look at all the booths.  The kids remember throwing the hatchets last year, and they wanted to do it again.  Well except Shaylee, she doesn't' like people watching just her.  (No center of attention for her).
We tried some dutch oven potatoes Yummy, then headed for home around noon, because we knew Dean would be getting up soon.

We decided to go to the Washington rec center and use there aquatic center.  The kids had a blast.  They loved doing the water slide, and lazy river.  Dean and I were even able to lay out, and let them go by themselves,  They had so much fun playing together, and thought it was so cool we let them do the slide and everything by themselves.  Of course we had our eye on them where we were laying, but hey they also had life guards, which was nice since we are the life guards at grandmas pool. We then grabbed a dinner to take home, and ended up having a great day.  The kids Thanked us over and over for taking them to the aquatic center.

Monday we decided to head to Vegas.  We wanted to go to this chocolate factory, M&M world, see the Lion exhibit at MGM,  play in New York, New York, and eat at the rainforest cafe.  We knew we had our work cut out for us.  But, first stop, The chocolate factory and cactus garden.  We got there and it was open, but no one was working in the factory that day.  So we walked around and listened for a little bit, we did get a couple free pieces of chocolate at the end of the tour, but were a little disappointed we didn't' get to watch the making of it.  We then walked around the cactus garden they had around the area.  We moved on pretty quickly from there to head to M&M world.  The kids loved the store, and seeing all the stuff.  They had a fun 3D movie we watched, and then we just looked around the 4 story building.

We then decided we were hungry, so it was off to the Rainforest Cafe.  We had never been there before, but we've heard a lot of people say it is good, and a fun place to eat.  The kids enjoyed looking at all the animals and fish. I do not think we will ever have to eat there again.  It's one of those places, you only need to do once.

After lunch we headed over to New York, New York, to play at Conney Island.  The kids had fun.  I told Dean it felt like the kids were gambling.  Quarters were getting used right and left, and we went through cash fast.  The kids had fun though, and each got a couple prizes.  A few older people played the games but didn't want the tickets so our kids got a few hundred tickets from people.  They loved this.
The kids seemed to be getting tired, and I knew we had a 2 hour ride home and school the next day so we headed out.  It was a fun little adventure for the day and I'm glad we did it with the kids.

Ms. Shaylee's Birthday!!

7 years Old!!
Wow!! We have ourselves a 7 year old girl in our house now.  She was so excited for her birthday.  Every night she would ask me not to tell her how many more days tell her birthday, because then she would stay up all night thinking about it.  So I didn't, and every morning she would still tell me she was up forever, because she cant wait for her birthday.  I tried something different this year.  I had some pink crate paper laying around so I hung it from her door so when she came out in the morning there it was to greet her.  She loved it, Addison and her want it kept up forever.  (Already down, you know me).  We also had to have fresh Donuts for her birthday so I woke up a little early and went to Lin's in search of the perfect birthday donut.  We then started in a the presents.  She gets a little embarrassed when all the attention is on her...even in her own family still sometimes, so presents were interesting.  Addison got more excited with the gifts then Shaylee, but later Shaylee told me how much she loved everything.

She was so excited to celebrate her birthday at school.  She was excited about school lunch because it was pizza day.  ( expecially for her birthday ;)).  Addison and I surprised her at lunch with a cupcake, adn sat and talked with her and her friends for awhile, while we waited for Preston's class to come, so we could say Hi to him.  We then came home, only to turn around and pick them up because it was early out day.   Grandpa and Grandma Eves came over to give Shaylee her gifts.  Which she loved.  She also opened her card from Grandma and Grandpa Monson...she loved the money inside.  We have such wonderful and loving grandparents. We headed down to "The odd life of Timothy Green".  Which we all loved...well except for Addison.  I think these movies are a little over her head still.

She made me take a picture with her mouth full of Jello.  She laughed forever at this picture.
We meet up with the Monson crew at Golden Coral.  (YA!)  Shaylee's birthday pick.  Grandpa and Grandma Monson were down, and so we wanted to spend time with them since Shaylee never sees them on her birthday.  Someone...(not her mother...she knows better) decided to let all the waiters know it was her birthday.  So they came over to sing.  She did not look up once, and was very uncomfortable..even had a couple tears in her eyes...but quickly got rid of them, and it was over.  Thank goodness.  We came home, and let her watch her Barbie princess movie before bed, and we all hang out.  I love celebrating birthday's.  As much as I say I wish they would stay small forever.  I don't. I love seeing them become such amazing kids, and I love watching them learn and grow.
Shaylee you are an amazing little girl.  So smart, you love coming home and telling us about all you learned in both your classes.  You've picked up on Chinese soooo Well.  I love hearing the new things and trying to learn them as well.  You love girly stuff.  We got you a purse for your birthday, and it's filled up with everything, and anything, and goes with you everywhere.  You still LOVE meat, but not so much roast, you don't like the fatty parts.  So you stick to ground beef.  Which is why you love Crunchy tacos.  They are your favorite.  You could eat them all day, everyday.  Your favorite color is now Sky blue...or light blue.  I think you secretly love pink still.  You don't care for candy or treats to much.  Which is great.  If I let you choose something at the store you go straight for the beef jerky!!! I laugh..so not your mothers child with that one.  You are still my night owl.  When everyone else is asleep I will come into check on all of you, and your still laying in bed staring at the wall.  Sometimes you even pretend to be asleep, but then start laughing, and give it away.  You love Disney Channel when you get to watch it.  You love "Good luck Charlie".  You are a great Dancer and Soccer player so who knows what you will end up doing, I think you would be great at anything you chose to do.  You have your daddy's eyes.  I love them.  I'm glad one of my kids got his eyes.  Everyone always comments on your eyes.  Especially those eyelashes of yours.  They are dark, long, and full.  You love to play with friends, but your sister and you play so good together, and I love that you two are best friends.  (well most the time)  You are in 1st grade, and love school lunch.  The salad bar was your most favorite part.  You came home the first couple days a little upset.  You told me you didn't know how to carry your milk, and food tray, over to the salad bar because it was to heavy and you had no room to put your fruit  and vegetables on it.  We soon figured it out and you've come home happy everyday. You are my best eater when it comes to trying fruits and vegetables.  You love most anything  I give you to try.  You have the best laugh..when you do laugh.  It is so contagious.  We love you Shaylee thanks for being part of our family.  We are blessed to have you.

Aladdin!

We had the opportunity to go to Aladdin, this last weekend.  We tagged along with all of Stephanie's friends, Grandpa, and Grandma.  We had a great time.  We started out by going out to eat at Chuck-A-Rama.  I like this so much better then Golden Coral, but of course...no...Cotton Candy, or Chocolate Fountain, so it doesn't cut it for my kids.  We then headed off to Tuacahn.  I love this place..feels a little like heaven on earth...in our own backyard.  The weather for August was actually very nice, and had a great evening.  The show was pretty good.  Preston loved it...all the humor.  The girls still loved The little mermaid from last year, but did also like Aladdin.

This picture makes me laugh.  Addison looks like a deer in headlights.

Growing up!

I challenged the kids to learn their Articles of Faith this summer.  They are all doing great.  Addison is on 10, Shaylee 11, and Preston just passed all his off.  I told them if they could make it to 7 or so we would have a half way celebration.  So they chose to go to Brave.  If they passed off all 13 they choose to get 1$ for every Article of Faith.  So Preston was so excited for me to pay up.  Actually he forgot about it until I handed over the money. So glad the kids are trying to learn the Articles of Faith.
Also, the last few times we've mowed the lawn we have been teaching Preston.  So this last time around we let him have at the Backyard.  He did so good.  Dad helped him outline the backyard, and also emptying the bag..but, other then that he did some great straight lines, and did great.  I know I say this all the time...But...they grow up so fast.  I love this age, please stop!!

not the best picture, but father and son working together in the yard.

First Day!!

Little Addi, as we call her..(a whopping 31 lbs).  She starts Kindergarten this year, and she is excited.  She looks so old in this picture.  5 years old.

Shaylee is in 1st grade.  The oldest of the class, 6 years old, but in a week 7.  She likes it that way.  She is in the Chinese duel immersion program. Should make for a fun year.  She is smart, and I know will catch on quick.

My baby boy is looking so old in these pictures.  3rd Grade.  8 soon will be 9 in a few months.  He was a little bummed about his teacher, and not having to many friends in his class, but one of his besties is with him, so I'm sure they will do fine.
Happy First day back to school!!! Aug 15, 2012

Addison's Surgery

Addison had a sty around the first part of June.  I put tea bags on it, washed it with baby soap, and did all that.  Well the swelling went down, but not the big pimple like bump.  The bump actually got bigger.  So we went to a P.A., who then sent us to the skin Dr, who then sent us to the pediatric eye Dr, who only came once a month to St. George.  He decided he would cut it out, but we had to wait another month.  So Aug 10th almost 2 months later, we said goodbye to her little Friend.  They ended up putting her under, which I wasn't to happy about, I didn't know they would do this until the day before.  But she did wonderful, and is really a funny girl with some drugs in her.  At one point she was setting on my lap waiting for the drugs to take affect, and she started screaming, and laughing we look down and she is holding a tissue going OOOO, it's a ghost, throwing my tissue around in the air, she did this for some time,  the anesthesiologist asked her to come with him, and I had to transfer her from my arms to his,  she looks at him as says" I'm not supposed to go with strangers, but your cute, and I like you.  She pretty much leaped from my arms.  We both laughed.  She was the best patient.  They say the kids usually wake up crying and screaming because there eyes are covered, and they still have drugs in there system. but, not Addison she was so good, everyone kept commenting how good she was.  A few days later we started school and her eye looks as good as new.
